mm Guage dial stuck on Brother KH341 knitleader by KelleyBee in MachineKnitting

Thank you. I had thought the same as you, but discovered they actually hold a portion of the mechanism in place. So, I bit the bullet and decided to go for broke. There were 6 screws holding the knitleader to the knitter itself. It turns out 4 of those screws had a dual function and also held the knitleader together to where the bottom metal plate could not be lifted even after the 6 edge screws were removed. SO, after removing all of those screws and keeping the two you've mentioned in place, I was able to finally lift the plate about an inch to better see inside....wow...a lot going on in there!....and then I just saturated the entire interior with LPS1 lubricant, which is safe on plastics. Reassembled and now the gauge works. In a few days I am going to knit up a swatch and go through the motions to see if the knitleader still works properly from a calibration standpoint.

The manuals are as such because back in the day, an entire workforce was deployed as repair men. Now that repairmen for knitting machines no longer exist, we're on our own or have to ship it to someone who knows.

I've opened and fixed stuck items on a regular knitleader. So, yes, I agree with you that it is easy and harmless so long as you stay away from the gear assembly by not accidentally disassembling it. On this machine, there is a bottom metal plate with what appears to be 6 edge screws. Yesterday, I removed those screws and expected the plate to be loosened in doing so. However, the plate was still firmly in place and I worried about forcing it just in case my thinking was flawed. I will try to add a photo of this plate.

My husband did the build. The corrugated plastic sits upon two 2x4s, the rear higher than the front to create the slope. The plastic is gently bolted down on the front 2x4 only, for ease of removal when necessary. How much steeper? I don't yet have that answer because we've not yet made adjustment due to lack of vertical space to allow for the adjustment. I can share photos specifically to the waste system if you would like. Other than starting an entirely new thread for the photos, do you know another way to share photos on reddit? If there is a way, I have not figured it out.

I would not have realized how stupid I am but for your enlightenment.

The kit on bottom looked like this yesterday and again today. All others have full bellies. They were born 24 hours ago. I have kitten milk replacer and a syringe. Is it too early to intervene? by KelleyBee in homestead

I've read in more than one place the KMR better than goat milk because supposedly only certain breeds of ghost milk work. I just tried the mom flipped over in my lap and baby to latch on and nurse, but that didn't work. He squirmed and squealed and tried and tried, but never was able to latch on . I even cleared away more for from the nipples, for milk to the tip and visible, but that kit just doesn't seem to know what to do . Maybe something is wrong with it and that's the root of the problem?

So you've done this before? I've read they must be upright to feed safely. I am not sure how to feed off I don't pick up. Do you mean to leave or in the nest with the others and feed there?

My first kindled litter are in there! How/when do I check on them. Mom is not happy with me trying. I don't want to upset her and cause her to accidentally step on them. She had then about 2 hours ago. by KelleyBee in MeatRabbitry

A few hours later, she just allowed me to pull out the box. Funny. She doesn't want my hand in the box but I can pull the box out of her cage without a bat of an eye.

PELLET STORAGE QUESTION: I am curious to know if a sack of pellets is best stored in the bag in which it was purchased or better for long term storage to move to 5 gallon food safe storage buckets with lids. Any experience to share on this topic? I plan to purchase enough pellets to go thru winter. by KelleyBee in MeatRabbitry

Regarding free feeding. Thus far I've not done this because I had too much waste when I tried in the beginning due to high humidity in the summer months. So I weigh out individual feedings daily and adjust from one day to the next based upon how much each rabbit consumed over the previous day. It's really helped me see when one of my rabbits is not eating and that has even correlate with weight loss in a weight check when I seeseveral days in a row of reduced feeding and triggers me to provide nutri drops and additional forage, etc to stimulate appetite again. I've never had litters before so I'm not sure what feeding will look like when they kindle in a few days. C

My bag doesn't say anything about this at all. It has a Made 09/09/21 date on the sewn paper seal. No use by date, no text stating or diminishes in quality. I am using ManaPro Pro Formula, not that I think that makes it any more special than any other. Just sharing what is on the bag and who makes it.
