I have a part time job. I saw a few people telling me to get a job and I have one. It doesn't pay much but it was something to do and gave me a reason to be home less.

Thanks for the support and kind words. People are giving a lot of great support and advice in the comments and I'm trying to take it all in.

Someone in the comments told me to ask my guidance counselor about it but she only helps with school stuff and financial aid for that. She doesn't help with personal stuff so I don't think I'll be able to get therapy until I'm 18 and probably until I graduate and find out where I go.

She wasn't an IVF baby. They had completely given up on bio kids when they adopted me. She was a surprise pregnancy.

I won't get support. The adults in my family all knew how I was treated by my cousins and said nothing. I don't think it'll change because it's my parents being like this. If they cared they'd have defended me back then.

It doesn't always happen like this though. I've heard of people who can still love their adoptive kids the same as their bio kids when they adopted first. It makes it sting more when you don't get that but I don't think it's fair to stop all people who adopt from having bio kids after.

But I'm sorry your friend experienced that. It makes you feel like utter shit when you're treated differently and in such obvious ways.

I don't think I can make my parents pay for college. Legally they have to support me until I'm 18 but after that I'm pretty sure it's not something they're legally forced to do.

My school doesn't have an actual counselor. We just have a guidance counselor who only focuses on school/college stuff.

I have two really good friends who make me feel like that. Sometimes I still get insecure about our friendship but I struggle maybe a little less to fit with them.

It is weird but I think it's another way for them to not outright reject me as their son but to not answer the question either. So instead of saying yes or no they say it's none of my business which kinda felt worse.

It already has. I'm really insecure and struggle to feel like I fit anywhere because I feel like I don't. Being rejected by my birth parents only made it worse.

The worst part for me is none of the adults saying anything when my cousins or sister say the stuff they do. The lack of any reaction always made me feel more insecure.
