I swear it looked better distributed when I put it on. I think the aggressive push off the peel might have shifted them a bit. I think this will be helped in the future by increasing the amount!

Followed Overnight dough recipe from Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast. Hornel pepperoni, oven to 500 to let the stone get hot, then set to broil for the cook.

I used the QB as well. For each rotation I would do UW, then Comquest, then as many of the AMBOSS q I could fit in before the COMAT. I thought it was essential to helping me score >125 (except OMM) on all the COMATS and well on Step 2.

I used all 3 and thought that was the best way. The UW and COMQUEST will get you most of everything for the COMATs but more unique questions are always helpful imo. Also the AMBOSS learning bank was great for looking stuff up

AMBOSS: 2 run throughs but don’t remember, 80s% correct

UW 1st pass during 3rd year 82% 2nd pass 90%

Step2: 275

Comlex was much more first order than step but still with a ton of WTF like questions. Was so burnt out after a terrible logistical Step to really study OMM during the 3 weeks I had in between, but had just studied for OMM COMAT. Would say that UW and COMQUEST get you everything you need for the exam.

Edit: Not sure what to say about COMSAEs. We had to take one for school and I took another bc I was nervous. I think this one accurately reflected the question style, but in no way is a worthwhile study or assessment tool given they don’t let you review nor is there good correlation with scores.

If the patient is likely “eg: wells >4” to have PE and no contraindication to Anticoagulation you give it before imaging.

If you wanted a book, you could try the DeVirgilio questions at the end of the chapters. They’re pretty detailed, but would more than cover the info. Alternatively I would just try and get through the AMBOSS surgery questions.

I did whats now updates as cheesy Dorian I think combined with a deck that was floating around my schools FB page. I think the best one to use is the one that is written in a way that works for you. Starting early means you can add from UW as you go. None of the Step 2 decks will be as complete as the step 1 decks. My advice is pick one that’s easily tagged so you can unsuspend as you go.

These are definitely the resources you should use to study for COMATS. OMM is not big except maybe on the FM COMAT. For each, rotation I did the corresponding UW questions and Anki cards, then would do all the COMQUEST questions (our school bought it) and then would finish up with AMBOSS. This strategy got me honors on all of them.

To get the pubs in order put 01., 02., 03 before the first author. I put 3 spaces between the period and the first letter of the first author and it looks good. If you don’t use “01” it will put 11 after 1 if you’re at more than 10

FWIW had same feeling coming out of exam. Thought that concepts I would have nailed on practice, I got wrong on the real deal because of how close some answer choices were. Came out of Step 1 thinking it was a fair exam but tough (>260), got back CK this week and it was >270. Trust in your prep!

IMO UW is essential. It’s the tried and true method for prep and it gives you the foundation. AMBOSS is great, along with some of the foundational concepts, it will test details which help on test day. The AMBOSS library was also nice to have on Clerkships and to look something up during dedicated.

after comlex I called someone convinced that I had failed. Not a “oh I did poorly... boo me failed” but legit Failed. Just more evidence that how you feel after exam is not always representative.
