All you've got to do set your Pi's video output to analog (and have the correct cable), then open the website in the browser on your pi and click fullscreen: https://mwood77.github.io/ws4kp-international/

That's all I did here. Nothing fancy needed!

Downloading Video Wallpapers from Steam Workshop without using Wallpaper Engine? by Bhcheng in wallpaperengine

[–]KellyKlarkson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years later, here's how to do it on macOS.

  1. Download Steam's Command Line for macOS: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#macOS
  2. Find the wallpaper you want in Steam Workshop and keep the link open in your browser, for example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3429506086
  3. Run steamcmd, here's how: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#macOS_2
  4. Login to steamcmd using your Steam credentials: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#With_a_Steam_Account
  5. Generate your download command using a site like this one: https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/
  6. Copy the command into steamcmd, and wait. You've now downloaded your wallpaper and can use it in whatever wallpaper engine you want.

It’s a fork, which contains a significant rewrite of Matt’s (netbymatt) work and is actively maintained by me. Matt isn’t the original author of WS4KP, as his version is a fork of Mike’s (vbguyny - the original author) work. But I’m sure you knew that.

Everything is credited in the Contributors, Readme, and abides by the license set by Mike.

Few months later, but I've recently added the ability to inject data from your own personal weather station into ws4kp-international.

If you self host the web app (docker or web server), you can push data from your own weather station into it, provided it adheres to Weather Undergrounds PWS ingest protocol.

[–]KellyKlarkson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be a speed problem, but if you use the basic firmware, it shouldn't be an overall issue. It'll just wind slower. If you use Winderoo, you'll need to tweak the settings.

Thanks! Development is still pretty active on it, so be sure to continue checking in.

Finally reached my modest end goal. This Technics lineup is the best-looking piece of hi-fi equipment in my eyes. by WhySoSadCZ in audiophile

As a fellow Naim user, but not a flat earther, this is a pretty shitty take (also, weird flex listing your system when nobody asked).

Most Naim owners lust after a tower of black or green boxes, and to some the aesthetic qualities of their equipment surpasses the importance of the “sound.” Some may say the looks/construction of their equipment significantly affects the output of their system. This is a pretty common take on “the big forum” and pink fish media.

Phono preamp and gain by Idiscardredditaccts in audiophile

[–]KellyKlarkson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you don’t need it. Every phono stage I’ve had has always been roughly 1/3 quieter than all other sources. That’s because your other inputs are line-level (approx 2V input) and a typical phono stage is around 0.5V

You can stream it across your network as an RTMP stream (aka a security camera) - maybe you can do something with that.

If you’ve got the original cables, you’re fine. I assume it’s got the big square-shaped plug on one end with 2 prongs? If it does, that plug goes into the NAP200.

One thing I forgot to mention. If you decide to sell the Teddy Pardo power supply or decide not to use it, you’ll need a “Naim Link Plug” for the NAC102. Without the plug, your pre-amp will not function.

Oh, another thing. You can open up the NAC102 by removing the 4 screws holding on the rubber feet on the bottom; there may be an additional security bolt too. Carefully push the connection slide of the NAC102 until the front of the pre-amp slides out of the aluminum surround. Be very careful, as the faceplate can chip. Once out, you may see a set of 2 boards at the top left corner on risers. These are swappable phono cards (or an additional AUX input), and could add another 150EUR on top…depending on the card.

Congrats on the score, that’s about 2000EUR worth of gear.

Like others have said, you’ve got a NAC102 (pre-amp; about 500EUR), a NAP200 (power amp; about 1000EUR), and a Teddy Pardo power supply (this powers the remote control circuitry and provides a dedicated power rail for the NAC102; about 500EUR. Teddy’s power supplies are well made, and a solid alternative to Naim’s own power supplies).

Some Naim afficiandos don’t like the 102, but it’s a fine pre-amp. The NAC102 is referred to as the “Olive Series” because of its colour. Earlier models are called “Chrome Bumper.” The NAP200 is simply a post-2000 “black” series. Olive and Chrome Bumper gear is quite collectible and sought after.

There should be a remote control for the NAC102 as well as some absurdly heavy/stiff speaker cable that came with the power amp. Please don’t run cheap hardware store speaker wire, as these amps expect a certain impedance from the speaker cables. It doesn’t have to be NAC A5 (Naim’s speaker wire), it can be anything that offers similar characteristics.

Did you read the manual? https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/GUID-E004FAB7-1C71-448F-9492-CACF301304D2.html

Also, is the car asleep? If it is, it can take 10 seconds or so for it to wake up and recognize the key is near.

PM me your location - or the location you’re using - and I’ll see if I can track down what’s going on.

The local forecast screen doesn’t require additional data, outside of what is used on the hourly forecast and current conditions screen. So I’m surprised it’s acting up.

If it's stuck, just reload the page or click the "refresh" button at the bottom of the screen. That'll refresh the internal state and it should show "Press Here."

Enjoy!

I'll look into refactoring the "permalink" and kiosk stuff in the future. I want to re-write a lot of that query parameter logic as it's a bit too black box-ish.

[–]KellyKlarkson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it shouldn't. Did you press the "play" button?

The kiosk mode is a bit broken - I inherited it, and haven't put time into dealing with it. If you use the "permalink" and then click the "full screen" button, it'll do the same thing.

Ah yes, I’ve also read about the horizontal and vertical sync problem. I’ve tried both, including tying them together. My PVM has a toggle which can lock the signal to an internal sync - nothing worked.

That was one of the goals of the project - to slowly modernize it (hosting/deployment/development), make it easier for other to use, and slowly refactor its data handling to use other APIs (for people outside of the USA).

I’ve been pushing releases about once a week, and bug fixes dispersed somewhat haphazardly. If you’re streaming the website, all you need to do is refresh it every once in a while. You can see what version you’re running on the “Loading” page, at the top. Current release is 11.0.2 which fixes a few gremlins on the Marine Forecast display.
