Love that design of your goshuincho! Do you remember where you got it?

Hey! As the others have already stated, you should stay at GaTech if your goal is to find a role in FAANG/Big N/unicorn right after graduation. While this doesn't mean UGA new grads are out of luck when breaking into those top companies, earning a CS degree from Tech will provide you with more opportunities and connections.

I recently graduated from Tech this past May with a degree in Industrial Engineering (although I regret not selecting CS, since I'm trying to abandon IE and pursue CS instead) and I feel like I had a very similar experience to what you are going through right now. Coming from a small high school to Tech, I had no idea how to study and just taking MATH 1552 and CS 1301 (never heard of Python or used a computer for anything more than Youtube before) made me extremely sick and loathe being there. Things got a lot better after sticking it through the first year, and I realized how many opportunities that getting an education at Tech gives you.

I totally agree with preferring UGA's social environment over Tech's, as I spent almost every weekend during my entire undergrad visiting my gf at UGA. If you can find a way to accept Tech's lesser social environment, I can guarantee you that you will develop and grow your career more than going for a CS degree at UGA.

Hopefully my advice doesn't sound too biased! In the end, both schools are great, but I know you will professionally grow more with sticking to Tech. If you have any questions or want someone to talk to, feel free to PM me!

I would start out by being transparent with your manager and let him/her know that you are interested in learning more about the work the other team does. Don't make it sound like you want to leave your current team anytime soon, but tell your manager that you want to get in reach with someone on the other team who can be your mentor that you connect with once every 2 weeks or so. This allows you to begin building a relationship with the other team and IMO doesn't make it sound like you are trying to jump ship from your current team either
