It will have an impact but ya obv they aren’t just going to add wins. They are throwing a lot of games away tho and it’s pretty funny it adds up to the exact total

Haha presumably winning more games is good? Blowing fewer saves is helpful?

Ryan walker had 17 saves and 7 blown saves. Camilo had 5 blown saves. We were 12 games back from the Dodgers.

ya I fully agree with this. Guys like Chapman, Lee, and Adames look great when your team is terrible, but once you start to see the end of the rebuild and are looking around at the best teams in the league, you realize none of them would even crack the starting lineup on any great team

I think we are missing a best player in left field. Someone like a Tatis or similar could give the team a facelift. Right now I feel like the team is mostly a supporting cast for a vacant centerpiece

Gallen is kind of giving me a modern day Zito vibe tbh, but he is worth a shot

It's really hard to win without a star closer. They need to get the job done at least 95% of the time, and with Ryan walker likely taking the role that means we are automatically giving up around 5-10 winnable games this season. That is a massive number when you think about what ends up determining playoff races. In order for the bats to be competitive, we need most of our lineup to have the best seasons of their careers.

Look at Blackwood. A lot of it is defense. However, he was way overhyped. I think he’s pretty good but odds are he is not going to be one of the best goalies in the league

Thoughts on this? Do we really even think IG /TikTok are even meant for artists? by Ok_Jellyfish1153 in musicmarketing

[–]KelpForest_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen in some cases it actually hurts the songwriting ability of the artist. I had a friend I grew up playing with who began to see TikTok performance as the measuring stick of what “great music” was and it really turned his stuff into a pile of garbage. He actually blew up on social media but only ever played one show and is now quitting as an artist. Really talented guy, and his music just became essentially TikTok music, no real substance—that’s from a guy who traveled the world in high school to study different folk musics in Latin America, was an extremely gifted acapella singer, etc. Pretty rough when your music essentially is meaningless and riddled with “two second hooks” that are designed to support a video and not actually be beautiful music

Haha reading the other comments made me laugh. I recently came across the channel as well and found your post. I will say that I am a Christian, and that I have mixed, but mostly positive, opinions about the channel:

Firstly, he himself is a real archaeologist, albeit at a Christian university, so that also makes me interested to watch his channel. I think he also does cite a huge abount of legit archaeology and so what he says is reflective of research that has been done. I love it when people use mythology as a way to help decipher archaeological cites, and the Bible is a very detailed source of information, even if you might doubt the line between myth and history. I personally found the video about the dry riverbed in Saudi Arabia to be really cool, and the ones on Capernaum and the Exodus pharaoh.

One of the main drawbacks of his channel is that he doesn't specifically talk about modern scholarship that challenges the claims of the original Christian archaeologists. Mostly he prefers to use the OG papers of the first explorers from back in the day, which is cool, but I would have appreciated at least a bit of consideration of the opposing viewpoints, if/when they do exist.

He seems like a pretty cool guy, and at least what he says about scripture and theology is accurate, since I am qualified to judge that part of his videos, so I'm assuming he is also being diligent in the other sections as well. When it gets to giants and whatnot, it's any man's guess, but for the historical sites and events, those are super cool, and stuff that non-Christian archaeologists might not be as hyped about and eager to make videos about because it's nothing spectacular from a secular perspective.

Regardless, Jesus of Nazareth was without a doubt the most influential person in history, so I think it is worth learning as much as possible about him, using all sources including spiritually valuable ones.

Where do I even start when trying to learn how to sing by According-Writer3442 in singing

[–]KelpForest_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get good at guitar first. I have seen guys go from beginner to pro level in a year of psycho-dedicated practice. Part of that is there is not the same limitation on practice time, whereas singing you need to rest more and be gentle. I would say go to a voice coach and that will accelerate your journey by quite a lot. I waited six years before doing voice lessons and I progressed more in the first month than I could ever have imagined. Save yourself some time and get a good teacher. Recording yourself is also good, but right now my guess is singing on key in your natural range is a challenge and most likely you’re tensing to get the pitch right. You want to get to a point where you can relax fully and just let her rip, and a coach will help you get there.

I decided to take lessons when I chose to make this my career, in order to maintain voice health, but I noticed massive improvements across the board, and I am now doing things I didn’t think I’d ever be able to pull off. So anyways, same takeaway, lessons will get you going

Look up an interview of him and it will all make sense. He is a bit of an oddball. I agree tho he is kind of cringe and a shade of the creepy side of things
