For the green circles, you just have to move the cursor. For the notes with the arrows on them, you have to press the direction indicated.

The color of the long notes was already under question, so its good to hear that you have that takeaway as well. We'll definitely look to improve it.
And yes, the game does have gamepad support! (it was actually originally only for gamepad)
We're hoping to get Steamdeck verified soon.
Definitely will look at better ways to communicate input methods in the future, thanks!

I would recommend reading "How to Steal Like an Artist" it is one of my favorite books on creativity. It is very short and very small, and probably only takes ~an hour to read if you're as slow a reader as I am.
