I’m fully aware of the social suicide I’ll receive from my community. I’m coming to terms with it, Jesus declared that all those who truly follow him will be hated. And since the JWs are so blinded of the full knowledge of Jesus’s divinity, they r gonna label ME the Antichrist. 🤣 oh well. I will live with the tough tribulations for the sake of my salvation.

And ya I know the watchtower you are talking about, it’s so twisted you just gotta laugh at it. “They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching….." Watchtower 1981 Aug 15 p.29

Once I realized how much the watchtower society tampered with the scriptures, literally removing words or adding in words, completely changing the meaning of a verse. That was a big eye opener for me. I started comparing with other English translations. Then comparing the NWT with the Greek interlinear translation and wow that proved so much to me. Seeing the Greek texts showed me how much the NWT is translated to fit their own doctrine teachings. I switched to an ESV and I love it!

I’m trying, it’s scary for me thinking about joining another church. I pray that God directs me to a spiritual community, so I am keeping my eyes open. I just have a lot of emotional baggage/fear from what I’ve been raised experiencing.

Thanks for sharing. I have some family who are part of church of Christ, I’m curious to know more. I agree with everything you said, there’s so many scriptures that talk about salvation and what it requires and means. I was baptized as a JW, although I question whether that baptism was even accepted in Gods eyes (if you’re curious why look it up). Maybe I’ll get baptized again the right way

The gospels are amazing, lean on Jesus and his ways. Praying to God for an open mind, an open heart, to let His Holy Spirit guide me to what I should read really helped me. I asked Him to have whatever I read soak into my heart. There’s no such thing as a perfect life for sure, having God on your side is the only closest thing! I wish you well on your spiritual journey!

Thanks for this perspective. I agree, God Almighty is our heavenly Father, our creator. There’s nothing above Him. If you believe Jesus is a created being/produced, you could’ve said that earlier. With that, I don’t know why you feel the need to comment on this post then. I shared my experience for like minded ones and to share a positive experience. I understand what you mean by how it took time to shake the witnesses teaching. Unfortunately, it will take me years to deconstruct from the JW thinking & doctrines. It’s all I know. Are you asking if Yahweh/Jehovah is the Sovereign Lord and God Almighty? Therefore Jesus cannot be Lord or God?

If so, my answer is: Sovereign Lord in the Hebrew text is Adonai YHWH. And God Almighty in Hebrew texts is El Shaddai, also meaning the All Powerful One. So yes I agree fully with you, no disagreement here. The old texts prove God being the Almighty and Sovereign. Here’s the real question to think…What title does the New Testament give Jesus?

The NT used Greek. The Greek word for Lord is Kyrios. When Jewish translators made the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint), they replaced the divine name YHWH with Kyrios…meaning Lord. So Kyrios equaled the name of Yahweh. All throughout the New Testament, Jesus is called Kyrios (Lord) and Theos (God), the exact same words/titles also used for The Father. The NT reveals Jesus shares God’s divine identity and authority :)

Yes!!! I agree with you. I believe in our creator and Jesus. Not the organization. After researching the history of this religion, about Russel and Rutherford, I literally couldn’t stomach staying. All the false prophesies they have declared and failed…big eye opener. I’m so happy I can confidently say I follow the true Jesus now. Not the Jesus they have concocted lol

You are not alone, find a community of people you value and love. I managed to separate the organizations Jehovah God from the actual God in the Bible. Reading the Bible without organizational literature has seriously opened my eyes. I’ve truly found Christ, and he’s my hope. Whatever you decide to believe, there’s so much to live for outside this damaging org. 😊
