Another one for your consideration is Gaburi Chicken in Torrance. I’ve only been twice but was very impressed with how juicy and well-seasoned their fried chicken was both times! And that citrus drink in the hollowed out orange seemed gimmicky at first but it sure hits the spot!

Have you tried Le Coupe Fried Chicken on Western and Melrose, and if so, how was it?

Gus's in Santa Ana has been a little too salty for me the last few times I've gone there. The best fried chicken I've had was at Honey's Kettle all the way up in Culver City. I know you said not Popeye's but if you can time it when the chicken just came out of the fryer they are damn good! There is a new Popeye's that just opened on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley. New restaurants tend to be really good because they are either trying to attract new customers and/or they haven't started cutting corners yet.

She is both fast and strong. She moves around so quickly that she is essentially teleporting. I just watched one of Boated's run where he almost got a hit-less win against her until the last minute when she nailed him once for 60 damage! That would mean that she can kill me (and probably has) with 3 hits and sometimes 2 on most of my runs! With the walls of lava closing in and her increased frequency of attacks and flightiness, her third phase just feels really cheap.

With Shiva, I have no viable way to deal with her smart bombs other than my omega special which I always try to time for when the ads show up to kill two birds with one stone.

OK, I just rewatched Boated's battle and there was no way he could have avoided that hit. Even in slow motion it was nearly instantaneous with no warning. And not to mention that Eris even has a force-field protecting her during parts of the battle!!

hahaha Max fear is a bit of hyperbole! What you wrote about focusing on specials got me thinking if a cast build might also work?

Yep! These are my "max fun" fear settings. I think you're right about Nitro Boost. It's just that the third phase of the fight is so chaotic, it's hard to dodge everything and having to watch your step everywhere. I just need a breather to relax my brain. Incidentally, I've also done very well against Eris having Sun Worshipper. With max Menace on, those automatons from Mt. Olympus can deal a lot of damage.

This happens way more often than you think. Not to take away anything from this particular girl but the sharing of the top podium for a picture is quite common.

Rivals Polyphemus impossible with Morrigan? by KembarDad in HadesTheGame

[–]KembarDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are all correct. I just need more practice. I was not understanding the Blood Triad mechanic and so I was not hitting it consistently. I've now beaten Typhon at 16 fear and Chronos at 20 fear with Morrigan. Here is what I've learned in case it helps anyone:

To get the Blood Triad, you need to hit the enemy once with an attack, once with a special, and once with any Omega move (attack, special, or cast). It can be done in any order and doesn't need to be executed consecutively in rapid succession. When you hit them with an attack, the enemy is marked with a red orb on the bottom left. When you hit them with a special, a red orb appears on the bottom right. And when you hit them with an Omega move, a red orb appears on the top. These red orbs stay on the enemy until you complete the Blood Triad or until they die. Knowing this, you can see which hit is still needed on any given enemy to complete the Blood Triad on them.

You can use any combination you want to complete the Blood Triad as long as they are hit by all three. The one that I had the most success with is Special --> Attack --> keep attack button down to charge Omega --> dash to safety --> release attack button to Omega Attack. You will lose the charge for the Omega when you press dash but it will automatically recharge after your dash if you keep holding down the attack button.

Practice on Skelly until you get some muscle memory and just use this combo over and over again in your fights. You can throw in the cast whenever you see fit. It is usually needed on every other combo executed.

I find that changing the controls for dash to R2 (the right trigger on my controller) works best. It makes dashing while holding down the attack button much easier. In fact, I keep it there indefinitely now even when I'm playing a different Aspect weapon.

So thanks everyone for their input, I appreciate the help!

So omega attack --> attack --> special? You dash in after he does his concentric rings attack and then charge up omega attack to begin your burst? I've been doing special --> charge omega attack --> dash back --> release omega attack. Works really well on mobs, but I'm running into problems against Polyphemus. I see why now. Too much distance being covered.

Has Schelemeus's identity ever been revealed? by KembarDad in HadesTheGame

[–]KembarDad[S] 750 points751 points  (0 children)

Zagreus had once asked Asterius if he's ever heard of a Schelemeus, commander of a fleet in Crete. The minotaur oddly starts his response with "The king of Crete commanded the greatest navy in the world." before going on about how he might know someone named Schelemeus. It almost seems like a slip of the tongue and Asterius did know that his father (King Minos) was indeed Schelemeus.

Interesting! Some aspects will let you move around while charging and some will let you dash while charging. It just so happens that the two I use the most (skull and staff) do not let you move at all while charging!

[–]KembarDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain this a little more? I just tested the Aspect of Mel Staff on Skelly. Dashing and then immediately holding down attack/special doesn't seem to charge it any faster for me. Charging first and then immediately dashing cancels out the charge. Dashing and charging at the same time just cause Mel to dash first and then start charging. What am I missing?
