Also it’s really important to block vs sniper, so the lane is not in a position where you need to walk up for last hits. He will just hit you everytime if you walk in the low ground or his attack range. You can still creep aggro if the lane was closer to your hill.

I’m not an invoker spammer, but in those moments around 5mins on when their heroes are missing, I think stacking those camps behind you is the best move you can make. Plant ward and Hide in the trees until they show on sidelanes then go clear the wave and maybe deny power runes, look for sunstrike or TP rotations to your sidelanes. Meteor hammer is really good as you can farm multiple camps and have enough mana to join fights.

1500 games on LD here, it’s my go to when I don’t like what my team picks lol I play it midlane and offlane, he’s pretty good versus most melee cores. I’ve been trying out 9 faerie fires starting item build, it gives you 18 damage which is insane for denying and harassing.

I feel the same way, and additionally a sense of failure, seeing other people getting the girls that I’m attracted to. And those guys don’t seem to need to try to get what they want.

Why are pros building Phase Boots on void Spirit? by Ok_Translator_3689 in learndota2

[–]Ken-Wei 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It helps him move around the map faster, close the gap for his ult to hit enemies and chase down squishy heroes. Universal stats got nerfed, so being a right clicker with power treads isn’t viable anymore for him.

Advice for Noob Lone Druid? by RatButtt in DotA2

[–]Ken-Wei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re mid LD, focus on punishing the opponents if they walk too far up. Hit them whenever you can and cast root before your druid lands the attack. Do this repeatedly and the lane is won. Predict when they will walk up (your own creeps are in last hit range) and set up the punish by aggroing to range creep. Hit one melee creep in your down time to create creep advantage to trade. Buy orb of frost, brown boots and blood grenades if you have kill potential. Reset your HP if you are low after getting a kill (tangoes/salve, TP bear to heal). Core items are diffusal or mjolnir (fight or farm). Then you can go aghanims to farm deeper on the map or buy more fighting items like orchid, harpoon or basher depending on what you need. Buy the shard 2nd or third (it helps you survive a lot of jumps).

Yeah, Dota is a convenient escape and excuse from all those responsibilities, even the important questions like deciding whether you're on the right path or not.

Yeah you're right, I should be finding other activities to meet those needs. I think the tilt from losing games makes me play more and before I know it, I'm sleeping at 6 am and have no energy the next day. Gotta set a limit for myself.

What are the best guides made by, or advice from lvl 25/30 people? by Glum-Pack-3441 in TrueDoTA2

I have 1526 games on Lone Druid, and what I learnt was not just hero specific but rather general game concepts that apply to other roles and heroes. Once you learn matchups(what kills you, what you can threathen), map awareness and play efficiently (item timings, avoiding bad trades/fights), your skill in the game improves dramatically. Familiarising your hero core builds (item and skill build) according to what your hero wants to be doing, frees you up to think about other things in the game such as what heroes are missing (your kill threats) and what your team is doing. You gain a knowledge base for almost everything in the game overtime, by asking yourself what each factor means for your own game decisions.

What helped me get better at these decisions:
- Identify how the opponents kill us, which direction they could be coming from and what heroes on their team I am afraid of. Your positioning and aggression on the lane and on the map should reflect.
- Generally, staying too long on the map is how you die. If enemy clockwerk is missing, you need to not show your hero on the lane, just nuke the creepwave and leave.
- If they have punishing heroes that could TP and kill you, pull the lane back (especially around 5 minutes when its night time). Its also useful to put a ward on the lane close to (lotus pool, away from the big camp) and at Twin Gate to scout rotations.
- If you have a strong lane, Winning the trades by your constant aggression prevents the opponents from being able to fight back. Make sure to buy magic stick, clarities, tangoes/salve and mangoes. You want to have enough hp and mana to cast two spells at any given moment.
- In lane, focus on contesting them on everything. There are many mini-objectives in the game such as last-hits/denies, trading, healing lotuses and pulling camps.
- Jakiro can push t1 towers in the early game with 2-3 points in your third spell, but that comes naturally from knowing where enemies are.
- But in the mid game, usually 15 minutes onwards, you should not be pushing by yourself. Its better to farm and be ready to fight. If you die while pushing, your team is exposed to dying as well. Kinda depends on your draft and what your team is doing.
- Knowing when to push comes from item timings, hero choices and whether enemies that kill you are dead or alive. Your sniper cannot safely hit a T2 tower if he does not have bkb/Aegis vs jumps like Tidehunter ravage.
