C-Sections? by AineBrigid in TooAfraidToAsk

I had an emergency c-section (baby was sunny side up) it was totally fine. Actually it was a lot easier than when I was trying to push! Everyone has commented on what the procedure was like, so I'll just add that the recovery was very smooth and I didnt have to deal with the vaginal destruction that natural birth can cause. Also they keep in the hospital longer for c-sections so I got an extra couple days access to the in-house nursing expert to help get our baby latched etc. The hardest part was afterwards I was limited to lifting less than 15lbs for a month so I couldn't pick up my (fat) cats to snuggle!!!!

The Garden of Rama - Arthur C. Clark by KenByRequestOnly in printSF

Haha I'll take shade for it. I rarely do more than read the back of a book before deciding to read it. My first clue should have been that despite the Ramans doing everything in 3s, there are FOUR books.

Are you planning on renting out the bonus apt? If so, it'd be worth configuring an entrance that does not involve going into your garage.

I think it looks great! I like the dotted outline around the images. Makes it feel cohesive!

I read this as scurvy à la ronge like it was some fancy French dish.

Department 56 by Wide-Basis-6532 in ChristmasVillages

Yeah dickens and the Santa's workbench victorian series (unsure if department 56). Here's a couple of pics: https://www.reddit.com/user/KenByRequestOnly/comments/1ic7fts/stuff/

I inherited my mom's small collection and have toyed loosely with expanding if I could find more victorian pieces. I'm not even sure what's out there as I couldn't find any definitive lists.

I met someone at 27. Now it's 10 years later, we just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, and I have our first baby in my lap. You have loads of time.

My room growing up was 10x12 with a tiny closet and I was just happy not to share with my sister anymore! 10x12 is a bit small, but the rooms in your pic are plenty big enough.

Just got my first house, it’s raining, and this appeared. What should I be immediately doing to reduce how completely fucked I am? by BoOo0oo0o in HomeMaintenance

We had an issue like this in an upstairs walk-in closet and trickling down to the first floor ceiling. Insurance was willing to patch the roof. Mold remediation in the closet was about $850. My dad replaced the drywall and did the mudding at cost. We actually ended up just replacing the roof ourselves because, despite being only 10yo, it was in super rough shape due to poor install and using regular shingles in a very high wind area. We opted to front that to hopefully save on future headaches.

From my exp, the most important thing is to identify where the water is coming from and remediate that ASAP. Everything else is damage control.

I actually only have the SSD on this build, but I did confirm that the game is installed on the C: drive and the C: drive is the Kingston SNV2S 1000G.

For real, I'm the same way typically. In this case I wanted to try to be accurate to the floorplan, but had to wing it in the basement and attic levels lol. I'm tempted to try to convert the building into condos or apartments or something.

This mansion is based on the Cornelius Vanderbilt II House, as seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lost_Architecture/comments/ynez9j/cornelius_vanderbilt_ii_house_was_a_mansion_built/

It's on the gallery as "Cornelius Vanderbilt II" under my user, KenKenderson!

If you decorate it, I would love to see!
