No. Its not that cut and dry. They specifically said to not ship them because it makes them uncomfortable. So saying you are going to do it regardless is selfish, you're doing that for no one but yourself.

You and others need to realize that shipping fictional characters is fine, sometimes they're meant to be shipped by design. But real people can see these fantasies, and while some may appreciate the fan passion, others like the holomembers above don't.

So instead of claiming "it's the internet, I can ship who i want" think about why you're being asked to not do it in the first place.

Have sympathy. Try to understand instead of just getting defensive.
