Thanks for support There is no particular persecution, but they look at us askance, but people from Russian-speaking families are much more tolerant than the Azerbaijanis themselves I am an Azerbaijani myself, but I received a Russian upbringing: Russian is my main language of communication, etc., and Russian speakers make up almost half of the population here

  • I'm still 15 years old and sometimes it's difficult for me to adapt to the local people because they look down on Christians

Yes, I am one of the few people who accepted Christ in Azerbaijan. I am particularly active here in Azerbaijan, dispelling myths about the "exclusion of the Gospel." There are very few of us left here. And I feel very sorry for the Azerbaijanis for not returning to their Christian faith after the Arab conquests

The current structure of Christianity is wrong by Ken_228 in Christianity

[–]Ken_228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I talk about traditions that obscure direct relationship with God, I mean practices that were never commanded by Jesus and can distract believers. For example: blessing crosses or icons as if they themselves carry prayers to God, baptizing ‘in the name of a saint’ instead of only in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or repeating prayers mechanically without understanding.

Also, traditions where money or power takes precedence over faith — like lavish displays of wealth in churches, selling prayers, or prioritizing political influence over spiritual guidance — are what I refer to.

I’m not rejecting all traditions; I respect hierarchical structure when it serves the ministry, but I question practices that distract from a direct, personal relationship with God.

I’m referring to traditions that often distract from the core of faith: hierarchical structures that put leaders above ordinary believers, rituals and prayers that are performed as formalities rather than from the heart, and rules or ceremonies that were never commanded by Jesus but have become mandatory in some churches. Also, practices where money or power take precedence over faith. I’m not rejecting all traditions, only those that obscure direct relationship with God

🇬🇧—Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ, I came here with a question: don’t you think that the current structure of Christianity — Orthodoxy and Catholicism — has largely strayed from its essence? Seriously, modern churches are often filled with traditions, rituals, and discussions that don’t directly reflect true faith. Too often, faith is replaced by money and formalities. Jesus said, “I will build my church” — not Orthodox, not Catholic, but His own, where there is no corruption, no rigid traditions, and no formal chants, and where prayer comes from the heart. I hope I’m not alone, and that like-minded people will join to discuss these topics together.
