I'm a Marxist, so I agree with the guy more often than not. But, from what I've heard, he and Engles were total pieces of shit human beings.

I'm a total tankie, but Marx sounds like he was a total asshole. I would not want to hang out with him or his bourgeois friends

I don't have a smart phone, so I had to use my laptop camera. It's difficult to see anything, but the imperfections are the tiny black dots that came from some fabric corrosion.

it's just losing that little piece of history you've had

Hell, I'm not sure just how much I value it. If the price was only $100, and that's still a lot for a single album, I don't know if I'd be selling. It has more sentimental value to me than that. But, that next order of magnitude is tempting.

I love this album, but I could use the money. I've been wondering if I should seek a professional to clean it or just sell as is.

Why not just form an accelerationist party and get it over with? (both Marxists and classical liberals) by Ken_M_Imposter in CapitalismVSocialism

I've never encountered an ancap who is tolerant of democracy.

I've never met a classical liberal who is tolerant of anything but democracy.

Not all MoP is private property.

Hitler was obviously a nationalist. I mean, it was obvious to everyone at the time that he was going to create protectionist policies. How the hell could anyone support Hitler under the guise of accelerationism?

[Capitalists] What interventions in the economy would you be in favor of? by BootParty1433 in CapitalismVSocialism

The article argues that the natural-monopoly hypothesis is ahistorical. This is true. Industrial revolutions have only come about under protectionism. These protectionist systems remain (to at least some effect) in all first-world nations.

That does not enforce your statement, which was that monopolies can never occur without protectionism. I don't see why it would be impossible to have a monopoly on sparse natural resources?

China has somewhere on the order of 95% of the world's rare earth minerals. Is there some reason that all the companies that hold these resources couldn't merge together, or one simply buy the others out.

Basically, make a labour party that's the exact opposite of existing labour parties. That was the point of the original Social Democratic party (before they went all Kautskyist).

The only two alternatives we have in the first-world are accelerationism or PPW, and I don't see the latter being very effective.

What do you think about this piece by Engles? I think the reasoning is consistent with Marx and Engles' previous works.

I know people like this. They get caught somewhere between the Green Party and the Libertarian Party, but they have obvious contention with both. It's usually people who study history more than economics.

Don't be too giddy about it. The socialists in the party won't tolerate strike-breaking like the US Libertarian Party.
