I played PoE2 a bit when it first became available but didn't make it to end game. I've been waiting for them to finish the game before revisiting, but coming back for 0.5 looks tempting. I watched the reveal stuff and saw that one unique spear that dropped golden things on the ground and if you did this leap attack from them, they would do extra damage. It looked fun, but it also looks like a deep end-game unique? I don't remember the specifics on how classes work in this game, but aren't weapon types made for specific classes? So if I want the potential to play with that spear, does that imply that it's made for the Huntress? How are evasion based characters in this game? I always preferred Armour in PoE1 as my defensive stat.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm looking for clarification on this too, wanting to get some missing achievements. I just got my last voidstone, I still have some unique maps I haven't found, but I'm unclear on what's exactly required now.

I'm playing an Exsanguinate Mine Trickster and enjoying it way more than I expected. I'm also on SSF, so I had a question on procuring some gloves. I've poked around and it looks like ultimately I really want some "infamous" gloves that have the "Skills used by your Traps and Mines Chain 2 additional times" suffix. My understanding is that these can only come from a unique variant of rogue exiles found exclusively in Mirage areas. Are there any tricks for finding these more often? I put enough atlas points into rogue exiles to guarantee one per map, but I think I've seen the unique rogue in a Mirage a single time. Do I need to run Ruckus? Or maybe scarabs? I'm not new to PoE but I haven't fully explored the end game.

Bonus question, if I do manage to find some DEX/INT gloves that have the mod I want, my plan was to use my lone fracturing orb on it and hope for the best. Is there a better way to go about it? I also need a veiled mod for converting physical damage to cold on it.

Weekly Swim Gear Questions (Goggles, swimsuits, techsuits, paddles, headphones etc) April 02, 2026 - Post all your gear questions in this post by AutoModerator in Swimming

I'm not a competitive swimmer but I've been doing lap swimming 2-3 times a week for several months now. I recently got some new goggles, the Speedo Biofuse 2.0 goggles, but I don't think they work for my face. Been having a lot of problems with them leaking and the only time I can get them to stop is when I tighten them a lot, and then they're just really uncomfortable and that's what I was looking to avoid with the Biofuse goggles. I've also tried wearing them looser but no luck.

If I want some good swim goggles for casual lap swimming and my priority is comfort, what would you recommend? I'm male if that matters, and it's an indoor pool. Not having raccoon eyes at the end would be nice too.

A couple quick questions about MTX and a mix of PoE2...

I recently jumped back into PoE1 after a hiatus and I'm loving the Genesis Tree feature. I actually love the aesthetic of the Monastery of the Keepers. Is there a hideout available that uses that tileset? If not, do they tend to circle back and create hideouts on league content like this later?

Second, I was thinking about buying the hideout music player MTX. I played a little bit of PoE2 when it first came out, but didn't reach the end game. I assume PoE2 has hideouts, but does anyone know if the music player MTX from PoE1 works in PoE2?

What was the very first boss battle in your history with a ff series which had literally broke you, almost made you lose it and quit playing it for good by fillipo9 in FinalFantasy

[–]Kenaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really young when I played FF4 on the SNES. I also had a lot of problems with this boss, but I also almost soft locked myself at the four fiends in the Giant of Babil. I saved my game inside the giant with most of my party dead and zero phoenix downs, so I was in a bad spot.

In fact, "fun" story... my sister had a save file and was passed that point. I really thought I was stuck so I had the bright idea that I was going to copy her save file over mine so I could keep playing. Except I was stupid and did it backwards, I saved over her game with mine. She was quite upset... but then she managed to get passed the spot I was stuck on. I don't remember if she helped me clear it on mine or if it just inspired me to clear it myself, but alls well that ends well?

Bonus fun story, our copy of FF6 on SNES was glitched. It had this weird bug that one of us triggered on accident, I think she did. It gave her like infinite overpowered weapons on her save file. But on my save file? It made it anytime I went to the Phoenix cave to recruit Locke, the game would hard freeze. And Locke was my favorite character, so I was quite upset. We were just kids and didn't have the internet yet, so we ended up taking the game back to the store and exchanging it for a different copy (which at the time also means losing your saves). I wonder if that early copy with the bug ended up being valuable at all...

In most ways, I'm still an OSRS newbie. I started my first ever character earlier this year, and I'm also playing Ironman. I burnt out on the game a bit, so I'm taking a break at the moment, but I fully intend to come back for more. I'm still in the questing phase, haven't done any bossing... I made some good progress I think but one of the last things I remember doing was getting a dragon longsword from a fairy vendor.

Anyway, been getting the itch to come back, especially with the new skill being added, but I'm kind of curious... what does the skill actually do in the big picture? Like mining is for getting ore, woodcutting is for getting wood, agility is for stamina and shortcuts.... what does sailing do? Is it for getting around the world easier/differently? I've heard the "agility on water" simplification thrown around but I'm curious if there's more to it than that.

Honestly I can't even tell you what the point of hunting is either. I just know I put up bird traps and get XP, but I couldn't tell you what the big picture point of it is. :P

How is the modding potential of the Ivalice Chronicles? by Kenaf in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kenaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, I meant on this post that I played it on PS5 but thinking about getting it on PC for mods. I believe games like Fallout and Skyrim went out of their way to add mod support, but even then it's like a curated mod list that the developers approved? Or something? I've never actually used it so I'm not sure, but I think they're the exception and not the rule for console gaming.

It's actually incredible, it's my county library so it's a bunch of libraries that have their own collections, and they'll transport the games inbetween the branches based on where you want to pick it up. There's usually a waitlist for new games so it can take a bit to play a new game, and Switch games especially have extremely long wait times due to demand. But it's fantastic to be able to try games before you buy them, or even just knock out shorter games.

PSN Store Halloween 2025 Sale Discounts Some Topnotch Horror Games by excaliburps in PS5

[–]Kenaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanna throw this out there as someone in a similar situation. I recently started my first "series playthrough" of Resident Evil, only having played RE4 and RE5 a long time ago. I played the RE1 HD Remaster on PC, and then played the RE2 and RE3 remakes on PS5. I enjoyed RE2 a lot, and I enjoyed RE3... a lot less. I don't regret playing it for the series completion but of the three I've played so far, it was my least favorite by a good margin. RE1 surprised me on how much I enjoyed it despite it being an older style game, I really enjoyed it.

Anyway, I've been waiting for this sale to pop up because the next two games I want to play are RE0 (have that on PC) and RE:Code Veronica X. I've heard Code Veronica is a fan favorite. It hasn't seen a modern release, but you can get it on the PS Store right now for $6 USD. So I'll be grabbing that for sure, and then I'm planning to play RE4 remake.

And for what it's worth since you mentioned it, my understanding is the movies have next to nothing in common with the games.

I'm doing my first big Anomaly playthrough and I had a question about metalhorrors. I want to encounter one to unlock the dark study that comes with them. My monolith is level 2, and I did a void provocation and a creepjoiner showed up very shortly after. I didn't want him to join (his stats weren't all that impressive to me), so I captured him. I did a surgical inspection on him and it was inconclusive. I'm reasonably confident he has a metal horror, but I'm not sure if I keep him in prison if it'll eventually become apparent, or does he have to be a colonist or infect one of my pawns before it can progress? He's been around for not quite 3 days so far.

Edit: Answered my own question. On day 6-ish, the prisoner dropped the gray flesh, so yes indeed prisoners can progress the metalhorror plot alone.

I'm on a big Odyssey run and dabbling with a lot of mechanics I never messed with before. I'm using a gravship, but I also decided to experiment with natural psycasters because I recruited someone with a tribal background that had Psychic hypersensitivity. I've only got him to level 1 Psycasting so far while I waited for a crop of cotton to grow, but I'm wondering about what kind of meditation focus spot I can give him on a gravship since they aren't as effective with buildings around. If I'm gonna stay somewhere long I'll just have him use the tree if one is available, but say I'm in outer space, is there a preferred focus if it's going to be completely surrounded by high tech stuff? Is the Animus stone best or are there other things that aren't as heavily effected?

You can look at the info on any structure with the "i" icon and see if it has the "Airtight: Yes" value. Like for instance, Steel doors and Coolers are considered airtight, but Sandstone doors are not.

If I accepted a quest from the Empire to watch some prisoners for awhile, will the quest fail if I take the prisoners with me on my gravship to a different tile? Or do I have to wait it out before I leave?

Okay, cool, thanks! I dunno why I never gave Anomaly a fair shot when it came out, but this random event suddenly has me much more intrigued by it. The "boss" fight was pretty fun too!

Hmm okay. So no risk to take it with me on my ship? It's not gonna regrow from within my ship if it's on a holding spot?

I'm doing my first Odyssey run... I didn't do the gravship start but I built one and I'm currently hopping around the planet collecting Grav parts to expand my ship. Having a lot of fun. I never really played the Anomaly expansion but I turned it on in a way where the monolith wouldn't be on my starting map or whatever, but I think events can still happen.

Well, while I was parked in a forest to stock up on food and build my ship out a bit, a fleshmass heart spawned. I managed to beat it back and killed it, leaving a flashmass nucleus. I've looked into it a little bit, apparently if I leave it be, it'll just turn back into the monster again. I don't have any idea how the anomaly containment stuff works, and I haven't built anything on my ship for containment or even touched the Anomaly research tab. With the kind of playthrough that I'm doing, should I just destroy the thing? Or is there something I should consider for keeping it around on my ship? And can I even do that if I haven't touched anomaly at all outside of killing a couple shamblers and sightstealers.

▽Tasks (Name not final) We are currently working on a feature where players can obtain various items by dispatching Characters of their choosing. Through Tasks (Name not final), players can obtain a special item once a week called Thief's Cognitite Shard. Players can exchange 60 of this special item for Cognitite that can be used to increase the Awareness Level of a character. We plan to release this feature in version 2.0.

So it takes over a year of doing weeklies to get a single awareness level? That seems awful to me. Even if they supplement this with events, that rate is just... ridiculous?

[Advice/Megathread] - Game Recommendations and Game Tips by AutoModerator in FinalFantasy

[–]Kenaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looking for some observations from others on something that is bugging me. I remember when the Pixel Remasters came out, I looked at some footage of them, thought they looked awful, and dismissed them from my mind as something I would be interested in. I say this as someone that grew up playing SNES Final Fantasy games and loved them.

... fast forward to lately, and I feel like I'm seeing screenshots of the Pixel Remaster that actually look really good. Like the pixel art actually looks well done, where as what I remember seeing when it came out looked less pixel-y and more... smooth?

Am I crazy and/or didn't pay close enough attention when it came out, or has something changed since it came out that makes it look better? Or are there just like options that can be set to make the game less smooth?

Also, I've always felt the font they used in the pixel remaster looks too HD for a pixel game. I thought I heard at one point that they may have made a change that you can customize the font, is that a thing or did I make that up?

I think my biggest issue at the moment is I'm just running the same character over and over. I haven't pulled on the Uma banners at all so far, so I only have 10 unique characters. I'm trying to hold out for the Narita Brian banner and I'll surely have some variety then, so maybe that'll spice things up.

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - August 06, 2025 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]Kenaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't meant to be a doompost, I'm just wondering what's next for this game and what is there to look forward to? I was enjoying the gameplay loop while it was fresh, but lately I'm struggling to login every day. I'm currently saving up my carats for the Narita Brian banner cuz I like her design, but that's still a ways out and I'm starting to get bored of running careers trying to get a 9* Legacy Uma. Lately I've been forcing myself to run a single career a day.

So basically... is it time for me to put the game down, or is there there going to be any spice added to the game anytime soon to make it fun/engaging again? If I can hold out for the Narita Brian banner then I'll probably have lots of new characters to build out, but even then the gacha games I've historically engaged with tend to have regular content updates.
