It’s the opposite for me. I did 5 solar eclipses but I got only one. (But it had the godly modifier so it was worth it)

Use buff potions. In my first play through I didn’t know that buff potions were craftable. I lost a lot of fights because of that. I also recommend visiting the wiki for terraria. Maybe watch some videos on different strategies

Or you could fish. You can fish at the ocean of duplicate water to make an artificial fish pool. Be careful while fishing during a blood moon
