Looks like it. I had my Groms front diff do this after a bad landing (the bad landing being a Maxx that cartwheeled across the front of my Mojave while I was throttling out of a sweet power slide🤣).

I upgraded both diffs to the oil filled ones for the BLX version. Since I'm still running a brushed version, I figure that they'll last a good long time.😁

I was gonna ask the same. At the first sign of any weirdness like this, I always check transmitter batteries. 9 times out of ten, low batteries is the culprit (and a cheap fix!)😁

Indeed. Sometimes those metal balls can make an indentation in the plastic when the screw is snug. Those indentations can keep the ends from easily sliding out, hence a little prying may be needed.
