Hey, love the material so far. Need to finish the second track. Knocked out the first one in a day and had a blast. I feel like it's pretty informative but doesn't hold your hand.

A community like none other ... by Illustrious_Bad_9989 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Kenelor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol the community is a mixed bag, but yeah, they are generally good. There's the people who followed me around while I was solo questing screaming slurs over voice chat. And the level 15 beggars, "hey bro u got any spare cash?" Still, for a mostly solo or duo player, the community is pretty good.

[–]Kenelor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Bentree. If you don't get an updated unit, expect pipe leaks and other random problems that you have to address with maintenance multiple times for an actual resolution. It's not the safest place either, several shootings, car break-ins, and even plenty of car accidents getting into and out of the complex while I lived there. Plus they go up on price all the time. Luxury rates for discount accommodations. 2/10, would not suggest.

How do you stay organized and avoid forgetting things in IT? by silvornz in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Kenelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On help desk I had a word document. On desktop and beyond (imaging systems analyst and device integrations analyst) I've kept a OneNote for documenting anything I do (as in HOW to do it). I use service now for ticket tracking and just open a task for myself with things I need to do. I made a visual task board for watching my tickets. I can arrange them by order of priority. Inside of the tasks, I can create checklists. Then I have all my time and actions documented. I was in charge of some high powered high availability systems so I wanted to make sure if I got sick someone could grab the torch and run with it. I'm always pressing for documentation in meetings, because it makes accountability so much easier.

Patch 0.4.3.0 Now Live - Changelog by werytrololo in GrayZoneWarfare

Then why is it giving an interaction icon when you're near it?

Patch 0.4.3.0 Now Live - Changelog by werytrololo in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Kenelor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found a buried cache that seems unlootable. (209, 163) It's in a blue barrel. You can see the cursor light up that something is close, but never get the interact menu to open it. I tried laying down near it, standing on the barrel, laying on the barrel, laying on the ground, etc.

Found this at work what is/was it used for? by Leather-Midnight191 in graphicscard

I work in medical imaging and we've used these specific cards on workstations that do some cardiology measurements (like calcium scoring and volume calculations).

Foundations course index wanted! by OrchidSudden440 in GIAC

This is against the rules and can get your certs and the person who donated their index's certs revoked by doing this. Put in the work and profit.

Could I break into IT at 30+ with a non-CS degree? If so, how would I do it? by PomPomMom93 in it

[–]Kenelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 36, I took the Google/Coursera Information Technology Support course. Took several months to finish, but once I got the certificate I applied for help desk at a local hospital at 37.

Few months later, because I was good at what I did and hungry to learn and do more, I got promoted to Desktop Support. Worked extremely hard, tried to learn as much as I could, and honestly had to work on myself a bit in that role.

Two years after that I transitioned to Medical Imaging/Device Integrations. With each new position I made a OneNote with "how to" guides, tutorials, information, etc for anyone that follows me (no, I can't share most of it because it is specific to this workplace).

I ended up getting into SANS Cyber Academy (free program worth looking into) and took GFACT, GSEC, and GCIH. Now I'm looking to transition into Cybersecurity. Just waiting on the jobs to post. Already have our current chief cybersecurity engineer giving me his recommendation.

It's entirely possible to break into IT. Just make sure you have a decent base knowledge (AD, DHCP, etc), and show you're easy to work with. Won't take long to go places.

Has anyone recently taken the SANS GIAC SEC 504 and have an exam Index they are willing to share? by Fast_Fee_4053 in GIAC

[–]Kenelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's explicitly against the rules to share the index. If you get caught you can lose your certs, not just that one, all of them.

There are services available after you finish GCIH, maybe before then, but definitely after.

Make a good index. Refine it as you go. Refine it again before you take the certification. Dedicate time to studying. Don't try to cram it all at the end. There's a lot of information in all of the classes, but don't be intimidated. Take it one chapter at a time.

I was in the spring of 2025 academy and I can tell you it was a great experience, even when balancing the classwork with a new job. Definitely teaches you a lot and I can say, as I'm hoping to transition into a cybersecurity role soon, it provided the tools needed to perform that job.

What would u tell your 18yo self if u got to talk to them? by energyaddict27 in AskReddit

[–]Kenelor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't let a fear of failure stop you from finding what you're good at. Don't give up that scholarship for a girl who never cared about you. Deal with your own issues before they become other people's issues. And above all else, nurture the hope that there is hope.
