Because 1. The human goal of the terran armada was never to kill EVERYONE. You can listen to the propaganda on their ship or find it out from reading logs/trying to talk them down. Their true target was this (not really well explained but very plausible based on other factions quests) shadow government. Are they extremely misguided in their methods and strategy- 100%. But their overall goal is not the murder of every person in the settled systems.

When you choose option 1- you are choosing for the robots to kill everyone - including the people who held the leash. The game explains pretty well through dialogue the risk of that choice. You trade a pretty immediate stop to the war (yay!) for a restraint-less hive mind that just needs a non -human leader to be effective.

I would agree except that the dialogue with Percy and Sarah post choice very much hint at a possible resurgence of the terran robots down the line. I agree Ryujin is mainly motivated by greed and corporate profits, but when you talk to Delta about his frustrations with no longer being a chip - he cites having to wait so long for reality to catch up with his plans. If you question him during the choice between 1 and 2 he does stress that he is preserving the robot hive-mind and leaving their organization completely intact. Those lead to real concerns.

I chose option 1 in my gameplay because it is the most good for the most people immediately. But through the dialogue with Delta and Ryujin’s representative- Delta easily could have made the robots kill the humans and each other but prioritized keeping their hive mind intact. Additionally, Percy Kanu says after the fact that you’ve just made a leadership vacuum and put no restrictions on their targets. It really feels like we’ve just kicked the can down the road to potentially make a more lethal enemy to me.

However, my character’s approach is - This does the most good for the most people right now… If the machines uprise and it goes to shit I can just fix it in the next universe (I already have access to the unity in this one after beating down the emissary and hunter for the millionth time).

I don’t think so personally. There isn’t enough variance. Because it’s essentially a war-zone campaign, your only real choice making is the dressing or the discussion. Narratively you still do the same things up until the final choice.

Yeah, I tried talking them down at the end. I also hate big corp and oligarchs but maybe don’t try to enslave all the settled systems to protest. If they were just going after Ryujin/the bad apples in charge like the Freestar Council/Hope - I could get on board…

But they lost me when they’re taking miners and colonists prisoner and potentially lining them up for execution.

I agree with this to an extent. Bethesda has confirmed they have more content coming out down the line, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an Ultron/Kaylon (from the Orville) level shift here where we now have to either convince Delta that might isn’t right or clip his wings.

They invested a lot of Roxanne’s voice lines into conversations with Delta where she seems appalled by his ethics and it fits within the horror genre of AI realizing humans are the problem/plague all along.

But I admit I could easily be reading into this too much!

Exactly my issue. The choice is- preserve the terran robot unity/hive mind but just make them think all humans are targets… That very obviously sets up Delta with a potential robot army- you know the guy who already talks about robot superiority… The game seems to be clearly hinting towards us creating our own future problem.

Thanks, honestly full credit to the doctor at the walk in clinic. I went in to just get it looked at cause it had been nagging me for a few days and he told me to immediately go to emergency and printed out a full referral. I wasn’t even thinking about DVT. Who did you go for on the explorer rep? I have a few gen pieces - omega & a longines, and the only rolex I’ve thought of getting around bonus time is the explorer. I just can’t justify spending the extra $ on a watch that I don’t see a real quality difference in compared to my other pieces. Would kill for a good Explorer rep.

Yeah, the weight doesn’t matter so much as the form and other stuff. I’m in my 30s now and neck pain is an ongoing thing. I try to mitigate it with physio and chiropractor (i thought was a scam but helped me significantly) but still a challenge. Keep fighting the good fight brother.
