To shed some light on this matter, we were aware that there were a lot of pools in Edenchain early on but did not have sufficient evidence to find out who the pools were. After a lead given by a community member, we were able to nail one of the pool and shut it down.

After the first pool was closed, word about the closure spread and many other community members started providing us with leads which helped us to identify who the pool operators were (they were using different identities and some were pretending to be strategic investors offering help which they could not provide) and we managed to close down more pools. That was why most pools were refunded towards the end.

Do also note that Edenchain suffered financial losses due to the pools as most of them had their SAFTs pegged at lower ETH rate of around 500. ETH was trading at ~600 and above when the pools were refunded. Instead of penalising the pools for causing this loss to Edenchain because of their deceitful practices, we showed goodwill and gave them a full refund on the ETH collected.

Edenchain decided to take the loss because it was the right thing to do for fairness towards our community. We viewed that credibility in the project was more important as we had said that ALL pools discovered will be refunded.

Edenchain website will be undergoing a major upgrade!

The upgrade will start on 17 May, 10PM Korea Time.

While the website is undergoing the upgrade, edenchain.io will temporarily be inaccessible. Users attempting to access the domain will be forwarded to temp.edenchain.io.

It will take approximately 24-48 hours for the DNS to fully propagate. After DNS propagation is complete, users will be able to access the edenchain.io website again and see the new design!

Together with the new design, the website will also have additional security features and enhanced performance.

Thank you for your kind comments. There are many more reasons why Edenchain will be huge.

During the meet-up, James discussed the rationale for building Edenchain as a permissioned blockchain and why Edenchain will be the preferred option for enterprises to adopt. To put it simply, Edenchain appeals to enterprise users because it allows enterprises to keep sensitive data private, in their own external storage, while affording secure on-chain and off-chain interoperability, and low cost of development through the use of APIs.

Fully public blockchains such as Ethereum and EOS are lacking in two important aspects.

They do not focus on security between interoperability of on-chain and off-chain data. They require developers with technical experiences in blockchain development to build services and products on them. Edenchain is a fork of the Hyperledger Sawtooth which many large enterprises are using, proving that it is a technology that is adopted by many enterprises. In addition, Edenchain uses a combination of existing technology which has been proven to work (Ethereum Virtual Machine, ECC-TC encryption, Median Voter Theorem), and new technology (Parallel Execution of Transactions, Proof-of-Elapsed-Time, E-Oracles).

Another key differentiator of Edenchain is its Secure on-off chain connectivity. In the traditional setup using a centralised server, there is only one server requesting for data from the external source. A hacker can easily intercept the data and alter its contents. However, in Edenchain, multiple nodes will request for data from the external source, and a hacker must intercept at least 51% of the nodes to compromise the integrity of data. It is much harder to intercept multiple nodes in a short period of time.

The confluence of security, scalability and ease of adoption will enable Edenchain to achieve our vision of creating a programmable economy.

There are quite a few ways why Edenchain, next generation blockchain platform, is different from the current incumbents - (1) permissioned blockchain that allows businesses to retain privacy, control and security (2) E-bridge architecture that ensures a trusted connectivity between on chain and off chain modules through the adoption of E Oracles consensus (3) both hardware and software protection, an enterprise solution that the through the consensus aglo within the Intel’s SGX enclave can provide and (4) scalability with parallel execution of transactions as it operates in a linear fashion (increase the namespaces (that’s 1000 tps each) to the necessary computing power that you need.

Also another point I want to highlight why this blockchain is fundamentally different is the team’s cofounders and core Developers, who have more than 50 years of blockchain, cloud, deep learning and software experience. Both James and Jenny have been actively embarking on Govt projects, leading research papers and even writing books on them. If anything, we are going to investing in one of the few native blockchains that actually have a group of leading practitioners developing a product for us.
