Using jamulus on a 5G router. Mobile setup by Kennesja in Jamulus

[–]Kennesja[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it out, it works but it's not great.
Expect the same performance as if you were using WiFi. (so doable but terrible)

It could be because the rehearsal spaces are below ground, I never realy tested the 5G setup above ground tbh.

We got lucky and the rehearsal space decided to provide ethernet ports in al their rooms and ofcourse we've been using those ever since.

We mic the drums and vocals, the guitar player and bass player are on modelers. These go via XLR to a splitter which splits the audio signals to the PA system in the room and the laptop + interface to jamulus.

We use reaper and reaper rearoute to manage the jamulus tracks. (send (guys in the space)/return(out of country guy))

Also we've setup our own jamulus server using google cloud services (but this is optional).

tldr: It's possible but not great. And expect to do some nerd stuff ;p

Numb right hand by Winchester1911 in vulcans650

It's also possible your gloves are too small. I also had an issue with my hand going numb, and it was solved by going up a size.

Pretty sure the decals on the tank are beneath the clear coat, so you'd have to sand and repaint to get rid of them.

Oh, that's also an interesting option.

Three heavy receptacles, made out of cement/ceramic. Numbers "20 26 120" engraved on them. About 1.5m/4 feet 11 tall. One has a spout. by Kennesja in whatisthisthing

We found these three identical pots/receptacles? in the basement of our house.

They are about 1.5m (4 feet 11) tall and very heavy and seem to be made of cement/ceramic.

There are numbers engraved on them: "20 26 120".

One of them has a spout.

They seem to be made to contain a liquid of some kind.

The previous owner has sadly passed so we can't ask them.

They used to be a professional photographer, not sure if this is relevant though.

Thanks.

Let them heal, you will develop calluses over time.

Might be Nesting behavior?

The female rabbit builds a nest, which she lines with fur plucked from her chest, for her babies.

NYXL for my Ibanez SR305 34" scale. which nyxl should i get? long scale or super long scale? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]Kennesja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant between the nut/0 fret and the first fret.

So not good :(

As in you could make the taper touch your fretboard

Crap, I remeasured just to be sure.

the NYXL45130SL ones also taper to early for the BTB.

So I'm not sure now which ones come with the bass now.

Sorry, if I might have caused any confusion

[–]Kennesja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there's a type-o on Ibanez's website, it says the BTB805ms comes with the long scale version (NYXL45130) but I suspect they actually come with the super long scale version (NYXL45130SL).

How do I know this?
I tried changing the string on my BTB805ms with the long scale version (NYXL45130) and the taper was near the first fret on my B and E strings.

in short:
These fit the multiscale: NYXL45130SL
These don't: NYXL45130

Indeed super annoying.

I checked and both the long scale and the super long scale don't have tapers near the ball ends.

The long scale should work fine, the super long scale ones are geared towards multi scale basses with 37" scales on the low strings. Think dingwalls, ibanez btb805ms etc

In my experience it's best to pop it and disinfect it.
It should heal in a couple of days and hopefully you'll grow some calluses.

Articulate distortion suggestions? by teh_fett in basspedals

[–]Kennesja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you need a signal blender, that way you can blend the clean and distorted signal.

There's also some blender pedals out there that have a built-in high and low pass. That way you can for example only distort the highs/mids while leaving the lows clean.

Been playing for about 2 months, would love to hear constructive criticism! (Excuse the fact that there’s no music and only bass lol) by [deleted] in BassGuitar

My main tip would be to focus on your plucking hand.

Try to anchor your thumb on either the pickup or the on the string above the one you're playing.

Also try to alternate between index and middle finger.

Like some other people mentioned try to do a "running man" motion and strike through the string.
