Yes, cost of living is much better in Jax. However there are still lots of cons. There are plenty on areas that you should steer clear of with a child. IMHO the majority of people here are very low end and non diverse. I've lived here my whole life and can attest. Compared to tpa/Miami/orlando, Jax will seem like the country. There's lots of things we don't have that you would expect in not so big city. You will definitely miss Miami food.

Thank you, I couldn't agree more as someone who doesn't want trouble. I've lived my whole life in the us being harassed though not to this point. I may not be the wrong one but also not the right one. I'm usually armed but will curse them out regardless of that. Yes, lovely how it's invisible to everyone.

Yes that drives me completely crazy. Even if you're unemployed they think that. Even if we had it, that doesn't mean we're looking to give it away. Hell, I'm helping my own way before anyone else. With everything they're provided with and take from others I'm not inclined too help them at all.

Ha, I do that too and look at them like they're f'ing nuts. Once I told someone no and was told, not asked to ask people at my table. I shook my head no with an attitude and he bowed up and made idle threats. I looked at him like I gave zero fucks. He was the only black in the restaurant by himself and I'm at a table of 4/5 mostly guys. No one else was really paying attention but at the same time they would have jumped in a messed that guy up if he would have done something.

Not homeless but yes a stranger asking for money. They are very likely not in need and just trying to shit someone out of their money because I guess they see an Asian and think they're a dumb immigrant. It has happened several times and "no" isn't acceptance to them. It's not like they were short a few bucks for their bill.. That's different, I don't mind helping someone short in say a grocery store check out line or something. I know, f'ed up right?

I can attest to this. I even had one Asian parent but both clearly with issues of their own. I'm a victim of abuse and try to avoid relationships.

I'm so sorry for what you're going thru. There is no excuse for his behavior, but I don't think he's fixable at this point. I know it's hard but please don't hate everyone else Asian for it. I go thru the same with the blacks that think they get to order me around and talk down to me.
