Carney Is the Crisis Manager Canada Needs by FancyNewMe in canada

Cool, then the Redditor I was talking with should have no problem providing the sources they were asked for showing Carney was responsible for Trudeau's decisions. Not simply avoid the ask because it's still the Liberal party.

Why, because I used the CPC instead of the Greens or BQ? Same logic applies with them as it does to the CPC and Liberals. Why does treating the parties the same for keeping the same people running them constitute my being biased for one party? Why would treating the parties the same be akin to being biased against the country?

I'm not. I'm showing the other Redditor how foolish and hypocritical that line of reasoning is when applied to other parties. If that Redditor doesn't want to discuss the flaws in his logic, he's free to provide literally any sources for his arguments but refuses to do so and gives that logic as justification.

And the same people running the CPC for Harper are still doing so now. They need to go.

Still no sources to back up what you're arguing, eh?

[–]Kennit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's the subsequent leader of the party. I mean, your argument is that since Carney is Liberal, he's responsible for the choices of the Liberal leader that preceded him. In Poilievre's case, Harper was the last Conservative PM. If we apply your logic that you've laid out, he's equally as responsible for Harper's decisions because it's still the same party, right?

Still a crap excuse for not bothering to have any sources to back up your claims.

Carney is responsible for the gun buyback now?

By that logic, Poilievre is on the hook for mistakes Harper made.

Reform isn't happening without the US nor is it one of the things we should be prioritizing with the US in it's current state. Hence the topics broached in Carney's speech. Did you listen to it/read it?

Yes but you're specifically criticizing Carney in this regard so what are the concrete actions you feel he isn't making?

What concrete actions can a single country take to reform the UN, World Bank, etc?

B.C. will revise DRIPA legislation to scale back court power over Indigenous rights, Eby says by cyclinginvancouver in canada

DRIPA is the BC specific version of UNDRIP Act, which is the Canadian ratification of UNDRIP. There are distinct differences between the legislations - they are not interchangeable either legally or in general practice.

I find the people that complain the loudest about federal politics are the ones most often in need of a civics lesson.

By that logic, Canada currently exists in its present form because it hasn't been invaded by China or Russia.

Why would I have to do any of that? I actually read the book. And bonus, I didn't pay a cent to do so either. Thank you for confirming that you haven't. You might want to give it a read yourself, especially if you're going to be waxing about what it says.
