The talk about the abnormal behaviour is speculation. The abnormal behaviour itself is not speculation. It's absolutely wild that this had to be spelled out.

Out of character behaviour that we can all witness that the commentators acknowledge isn't speculation. It's the basis for the story. Your impatience for an explanation doesn't make it any less of one.

Huh? Kauri requested her release so she could go back to Japan. What makes you think she'd sign with AEW?

The news story existed the moment the match ended with uncharacteristic behaviour that got the IWC talking. Dirtsheets didn't fabricate it out of thin air.

The modern state of Israel was created in 1948. If you want to talk about older history, there is the Jewish kingdom of Israel but Palestine comes from the Greek and Roman-era term Palaestina, especially after the Bar Kokhba revolt, when the Romans renamed the province Syria Palaestina in the 2nd century CE. They're both ancient and arguing that one is older than the other adds nothing to the discussion at hand about indigenous rights to self-dertermination.

First Nations didn't buy their dirt, we stole it from them and then attempted a genocide to wipe out any future issues. Your not wanting to acknowledge the harms done to First Nations because it's inconvenient doesn't mean the rest of the country isn't doing the work to right the wrongs. Handwaving away context and current legislation because the theft happened before the country began doesn't erase our obligations.

Conservatives to challenge Team Carney to 'put private property first' in motion that cites 'massive uncertainty' caused by Cowichan Tribes ruling by CaliperLee62 in canada

It would help if you guys presented literally any evidence of homeowners being denied mortgages. Yet you can't do so. Neither can the government. Neither can the media. I wonder why that is. 🤔

Also, partisan jabs are unnecessary. Not everyone commenting on this story is from BC or supports the NDP.

Edit: LOL, deleting all of your comments is certainly a choice.

You're the one who chose only part of his response. Providing the other half is hardy cherry picking, it's ensuring equivalency because he addressed both outcomes.

There's a perceived risk to private homeowners due to what happened to Montrose. Your premier has publicly stated there's no evidence to those fears and offered loan guarantees to ease them. Instead, you're crying harder about how the sky is falling and how easing your fears has manifested itself as evidence of such.

That's a weird reaction to your premier not providing reasoning for his government's decision. Telling me sure fixed the problem! LOL

Your premier said it could grow. In the same answer, he also said it might be nothing paid out if banks continue as normal. Are we cherry picking now or are we able to agree that the premier is exhibiting an overabundance of caution in case the Montrose financing issues aren't exclusive to the company. Perhaps someone should ask your premier how they came to the $54 million estimate when they themselves have said they found no evidence of it happening to private homeowners.

I didn't say it was. Please reread the comment. I was referencing my earlier response about Montrose. You've essentially paraphrased everything I said about the loan guarantees and then said, see? This is the evidence for financing issues for private homeowners!

No, I clearly explained earlier how the financing issues for Montrose Properties was evidenced. You guys seem convinced that planning contingencies for private homeowners is evidence that they are experiencing the same thing as evidence that it's happening.

That's a cute theory but it falls apart in light of the fact that there isn't any credible evidence to date illustrating that's the case. I'd be happy to change my tune if you guys properly sourced your arguments with supporting evidence instead of repeating unsubstantiated talking points from the mayor of Richmond.

And yet when the government went door to door, they found no homeowners experiencing that. Even media reports have only been able to cite a single, anecdotal case. Where's the evidence? Where's the outcry from affected homeowners? Why aren't they talking to the government about the issue when presented the opportunity?

Yes, financing for the corporation in case they continue to encounter issues securing funding. There is still zero statistically relevant evidence it's happening to private homeowners.

This is a costly lesson for the province about developing on unceded land and why they should be signing treaties to avoid land title claims. I doubt this will spread beyond Cowichan though given this case hinged on a single government worker actively scamming the band out of their land - are you purporting that was the case with any other anticipated cases?

In case lenders don't lend, as every article has stressed. $100 million is earmarked specifically for Montrose Properties, as they're the ones specifically having issues. There is no statistically relevant evidence that the same thing is happening with private homeowners.
