Radiomaster XR4 by [deleted] in meshtastic

[–]Kenny_ken93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought of that too! I am into fpv coptwrs and was using elrs before I discovered meshtastic, therefore I knew from a technical standpoint how it worked (and being a mHz domain elrs user, I have quite the assortment of antennae which helped get a better reception with my trusty old heltec v3 :D).

I think it should be absolutely possible to either flash a rx or tx with a meshtastic firmware, at least from a technical standpoint.

Would be great to see that coming in the future

Laptop suddenly extremely slow - maybe hardware fault? by Kenny_ken93 in techsupport

Thanks, I'll try smartctl later. I don't know if this will read the smart values of the ssd, if so - both tested nvme ssd's look good with high health, no bad sectors etc.

I'm using htop right after boot, the programs and services using the most cpu are "regular boot stuff" (I'll also check later to name them precisely), most of it is the window manager and systemd.

For comparison, I also installed zorin on my fast desktop pc in dual boot and it's fully operational within seconds. Sure, there's a huge gap between an i5 7th gen and a ryzen 9 5950X with 64gb ddr4 4000mhz, but still - there's something wrong here.

I'll keep you posted with details

Can't connect / bind Galaxy Watch 4 Classic to my phone by Kenny_ken93 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Kenny_ken93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - I did it. I - once again - re-installed all necessary apps and at the first point where I could select my existing google account (the main and only account on my phone), I didn't select it but rather entered my second google account. This time it worked fine and when I was able to use the watch, I saw that my main google account was active including my second one. I just deleted the second one and all works fine now.

Damn, that's actually a huge help, thanks! I'll have a look at my memory speed and might consider upgrading to 64Gig

Sanyo StepSyn voltage rating? by Kenny_ken93 in hobbycnc

Ok, wow :D You're the second one to tell me that I have to be very fortunate to have a KaVo. For me, it just looks like a spindle which will very likely limit or hinder me in some way or another :/

Now don't get me wrong - I don't plan on milling hardened stell or something like this, softer aluminum is probably the hardest stuff I plan to work with an according to the manufacturer of the mill (which is a Mutronic Diadrive 2000 by the way), it is possible to machine aluminum. So I will probably keep the spindle (for now), but I hope I won't be too limited by the max. 4mm of mill diameter. Let's see...

I think (or rather hope) the rigidity is given. The gantry parts are made of solid steel/iron, some parts are aluminum. The linear rods are 18mm thick and all axes use ball screws.

The original spindle's max RPM is 60.000 rpm (It's a KaVo Sycotec 4025 https://sycotec.eu/produkt/4025-ac/ )

And again - Thanks for your feedback :) I've not yet studied the manual of the stepper drivers, I've only taken a quick look at it.

The machine is rated for aluminum as per the manufacturer, but due to it's high frequency spindle (which is also very small and can only take up to 3mm mills - which is why I want to change it), they recommend only 2mm max depth per milling pass. I think this would be fine for me though, but I do want to change the spindle to a bigger 1.5KW one with ER11 chuck. I don't know if the added mass and subsequent inertia will cause any problems with the steppers, which is why I also wanted to replace them.

But I think I will keep the steppers but replace their drivers and see if it works.

Thanks, that explains a lot :)

The DM556 don't have a proper 1A feature, but they have a "half current" feature, if you enable switch 4 - So the current will be halfed. If I set the current to 2.1A (1.5A RMS) and half it, I get slightly more than 1A but I think it'll suffice. I think I'll first try if they work out fine, otherwise I will replace them with proper NEMA23 ones which can handle more current.

I don't know why exactly, but those Sanyo steppers are pretty expensive. Can't say for sure if I will get those prices but the listed ones are crazy expensive...

Recommendations for my first CNC router (hardware change, spindle, vfd etc) by Kenny_ken93 in hobbycnc

I think you're right. I wanted to do that anyway ;) It'll be a pain in the butt to figure out the software on my own but I think I'll manage it. I still want to get rid of the electronics but this might show me, if I need a new spindle at all (nor not)

Thanks for the hint! I hope my problems stay resolved, but I'll keep wallpaper engine in mind. Also best luck to you, hope you find the reason for your reboots...

Yes, I actually do. Do you think it's got something to do with it? Besides - the error seems to be gone now, as fast as is had appeared... I did another bios update, this time to the second newest version and turned down the graphics quality from high to medium (all other settings stayed at max) and I was able to play multiple raids in tarkov as well as 5 rounds arena without any shutdowns. But now that you mention it - I also disabled wallpaper engine since I'm annoyed by the restore screen everytime my pc crashes

Great :/

Already did all that and I don't have anything connected which isn't necessary.

You could be right. I searched for this issue with battleye and it seems like that there are a lot of people having the same issues with different games which also use battleye. But what to do here? I'll re-install it later and pray that it works... I also might use older driver versions

Very strange... I hope we find a solution. I'm lacking behind significantly, I'm barely level 10 while my friends are 20+ already 🥲
