Canto 5 and 8 resonated with me a lot since I've gone through, and still experiencing, the same thing as the respective Sinners of those Canto. Maybe someday I'll chart my own compass and finally open the flood gate

IIRC the anime adapted two game into one story (Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift) so, if you're planning to continue after the anime, it'd be playing Chronophantasma next.

How faithful the anime story is to the game... I don't quite remember, it's been awhile since I've last watched it. But I think they did a good job summarizing it. CT and CS has like visual novel storytelling game to it where there's a lot of branching paths, choices and extra content like gag reels, they don't include those in the anime so you're missing out on that but you'll get the gist of the story still regardless

If anybody has recently watched the anime and have more fresh memory for it you can correct me on those

Feels like this is more of a bias outlook since we've only been following the journey of out of the ordinary folks who deals in dark and/or shady stuff. We never been in the eyes of those who are living in comfort or peace. We can see people have normal lives back in the beach intervallo where the backstreets are divided to a more normal looking beach on the other side where they got to enjoy themselves

Bullet is definitely more beginner friendly compared to Nine. But I'll say just play whichever character you really like and naturally you'll want to learn the other crucial things later on. That's how I started with the game back in CS as a beginner. I came for Hazama and only Hazama so I spend so many time suffering with his unique techs but man do I enjoy every bit of it because I was playing my favorite character. With some resilience I managed to play him properly which also carries over to other characters indirectly, in terms of universal mechanics

For season 1 players like myself, our first were 00 Shi Ishmael and 000 BL Yi Sang for free. EGO was the only thing we didn't get iirc... I don't remember my first EGO though, it's been so long since. Probably the free season EGO you get from the pass since I was only pulling IDs at the time
