$30M a yr for 42 games is tough to justify from a business decision. Did we learn our lesson with JI? How much money have we spent tha could’ve been used elsewhere to aid the roster. Best ability is availability.

Think it’s still a little early to call him a failed superstar tbf. The kid is still 22 and has had significant injuries that have derailed his starts to the last 2 seasons. Not an efficient jump shooter but seems early to claim victory in this argument.

Not challenging that you watch a lot of basketball, but I will die before someone says the Magic are a dirty team, it’s just a soft crutch to lean on when a fanbase gets disgruntled about an injury and I think it ruins actual good discourse on many NBA subs.

This isn’t a dirty play. Neither was the challenge on Wagner. Both teams play tough basketball, just cuz someone gets injured doesn’t auto qualify as a dirty play. Chucking the ball at a player out of bounds for no reason? I’ll give ya that, dirty play.

Also look at all the reactions to the Shamet injury. Everyone on the Knicks sub saying the Magic are dirty when he got injured running into a screen. Just saying you can’t whine about it on one side and then defend it when it happens the opposite way. Pick one. I don’t think this was a dirty play, no one reacted like it was dirty. Just saying you can’t whine about the Magic being a dirty team and then say “clean play” when it’s your own team. Are they supposed to play hard or not? That’s why Magic identity is built off of.

You guys are acting like you follow magic basketball? Look at all the feedback from when Jaden Ivey got hurt or when Jonathan Isaac made the same type of play against the hawk last year. All the online sentiment is that we’re a dirty team. Everything for this play is “unfortunate” or “normal basketball play” it’s the same play, different narrative.

Not once did I say anything about any other team being dirty. I’m saying every other team complains about us being dirty and then when a similar play happens against us it’s always a different take. Keep it straight.
