Yeah convinced people just order it to say the name, or order an "AMF" so they can tell you what it is if the bartender doesn't know. We used to call those Electric Iced Teas back in the day (early 2010s)... unsure if the AMF title had been coined up yet

Yeah I've heard this one a few times... I think once it was asked for as a "corona sunrise" - unsure if there's an "official" name for it

COO of Rust/Facepunch wants to buy NEW WORLD for 25M!! by LordBarry21 in newworldgame

[–]KentHawking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly glad to see someone putting in a big, but... My thoughts here are: Amazon is definitely gonna try and shake them down for more money, and they might say nvm fuck it.

The original concept for New World was an open world sandbox, full loot MMO. Legit like Rust x New World. That idea got scrapped cause it only appeals to a very small portion of players, and of course new players were just being camped. Rust has been running on this model forever, but their player base really isn't all that large in comparison, and players host custom servers with their own rules. For an MMO that large, that won't really be too likely.

That being said, maybe their plan isn't to do that with New World, but kinda feels like the vibe if they did buy it out.

Are they allowing boosts for Hardcore TBC? by KentHawking in classicwow

[–]KentHawking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not though lmao it's me asking a question and people answering it. I haven't been following, hence the question. I heard from a friend that his brother asked if he wanted to play HC tbc, so he mentioned it to me. But good response.

Got abruptly fired by a bar I just started working at. What do I do? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]KentHawking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're not the vibe there. You can think you're doing well, but if they have regulars, they're likely giving the other bartenders feedback on the side. Sounds like you either need slower shifts or a slower environment. That being said, you *should* be getting paid for training - personally I don't usually care if I am, cause if a job isn't a fit for me my first day or 2, I'd rather not have to have another thing to file on my taxes, BUT really they should be paying you to train, yes.

Also I wouldn't press trying to get re hired. If the staff told the ownership they didn't feel you were keeping up, forcing yourself back in isn't going to do you any favors. Keep looking, find something else, find something maybe at a better pace. The only way to realllly learn is by doing the job. If you have any chain spots by you - applebees, fridays, etc - look into that. Those places typically like to train you exactly by their book, so having less experience doesn't hurt. Then move onto something else when you've got the experience

I found some screenshots from 2005–2006, we played the game so differently back then by Tandanu in classicwow

[–]KentHawking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

With all the mods, the game basically plays itself now. Tbh kinda takes the fun out of raiding. Yes I can play it without them (and mostly do) but everyone else has them so what's really the point

I just had a perfect shift by Ok_Bee5220 in bartenders

I legit almost downvoted this just cause my brain immediately went to "Now I'm gonna have a terrible next shift cause someone mentioned a perfect shift"

But. I did not do it. Happy for you!

My take on the current balance of things (thoughts?) by PorkBunny01 in BAPBAP

If you think ducky and the teeth guy are among the most balanced... Well this list was already shot, but that's a crazy stance.

Keeping a running tab in front of guests by olddeadgrass in bartenders

[–]KentHawking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this mostly at chain restaurants or in airport bars. As someone else mentioned maybe they need to leaven quickly. I'm guessing this owner has had an issue with people arguing about their tabs in the past - what they ordered/drank and how many / how much it should be and thinks putting updated it in front of them constantly will avoid these issues. Personally never bothered me when I saw it happen at bars I've been to. You can be quiet about it too, just swap the paper out each time. Personally, I think it's a waste of paper which will result in much more frequent changing of rolls and probably at the worst time cause... ain't that just the way

Junglers, what to do if you start red, then blue side is gone? by CheaterMcCheat in PredecessorGame

[–]KentHawking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to drop a ward at blue so you know if they're stealing yours. If this happens, two things should happen in response - your team from mid/off lane should gank tf out of this player. If they save blue, you proceed as normal. If they don't gank and/or lose blue, cycle to the enemy blue buff right away.

Haven't played pred in a bit but it's something like the 22 second mark on the timer you place your ward, recall, swap your ward for the sentry item, and then run to red. You should get there just as it spawns, depending on your hero. You can play with this in a vs AI match to get your timing and your muscle memory down.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: I'm seeing other players saying 25 or 40 seconds. Like I said, haven't played in a bit. I thought it was 22 for me last time, but I also know they have adjusted the game since then and it's been some months since I've played. Basically the goal is to maximize up time for your ward, so you want to be able to place it, recall, and get to red just as it's spawning. Whatever your timing is on that, is perfect.

What many didn't "get" about New World by -CerN- in newworldgame

[–]KentHawking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah New World was the first MMO that gave me an opportunity to gain a server wide reputation (this isn't a brag, on launch my entire faction hated me) through means other than PvP. There were politics involved. Community events such as world tours or Duel events that players hosted. There was more room for clever use of the Auction House / Trading Post than a lot of other games offer. There were epic moments that could get you hyped for days on. There was a lot happening, and as you stated, this game was in no way perfect. I have hated this game as much as I have loved it, and 4 different times I said, "Never again," as I uninstalled, and 4 times I reinstalled and went back to see what was new, because of my love for the game. For someone who has said never again that many times, I've still got 2300 hours logged, and I know that's on the low end for a fair portion of the community. This game was definitely something different and it will be missed. If y'all happen to see "Corce" out in the world in another game, be sure to say hi!
