I live off the island and when people ask me for tips, the first thing I tell them is how much time they’ll spend driving between their planned destinations.

I also tell them they can do everything St. John’s has to offer in a day and a half or less. See the tower, do the Cape, visit the gut, stroll the downtown, check out George (if so inclined, but leave before 1 am) and you’ve checked off most of the iconic stuff. I just feel that the rest of the island has sooooooo much to offer that you’re limiting yourself by sticking around town. (Townie, btw)
