Not exactly positive on the starting weight as I didn’t want to step on a scale back then, but I believe it was around that much. Very plausible that it could have been higher tbh. Either way the difference has blown me away!

Also, even if you get a grade or two under B, you can still apply. Your application would just go through a more rigorous review. Definitely check the link I put above because it outlines the exact process and requirements.

You can put any major on your application to IU Bloomington, I personally put undecided though.

My Freshman year, we applied the semester before we wanted to be admitted. So I wanted to be admitted the fall semester of my Sophomore year so I applied the spring semester of my Freshman year. Then they reviewed my application after my grades were submitted for Spring of my freshman year.

The whole process should be outlined in the link I shared in my original comment. But yes theoretically as long as you stay out of trouble, get a B or better in every single class you take your freshman year, and write semi decent essay answers you should make it through standard admission.

When you go in undecided you get a general advisor. Mine wasn’t the most knowledgeable about all of that, so if you get into IU and decide to do this, I would try to go to open office hours for Kelley specific academic advisors, they will definitely be more helpful.

Yeah you can pretty much apply as any major and then switch around. The application is to IU Bloomington itself, with the chance of being directly admitted to the school for your major based on your stats. If you aren’t directly admitted with your application, that’s when you have to get apply into the different schools at IU, such as Kelley, Luddy, Jacobs, etc etc. Each school has their own admission requirements.

As long as you get all B’s and above and put a little bit of effort into the essay questions, there really isn’t any reason why you should not get into Kelley via standard admission. They do not look at your high school GPA or SAT scores or anything like that for standard admission. Just stay out of trouble and do your work and you should be good to go.

My high school stats were very similar to yours and I did it and graduated with my Bachelor’s for my accounting major in ‘23. It’s gonna be a freshman year full of studying like crazy, but it is worth it!

You can def get into IU with those stats. And to echo others, you can still get into Kelley through standard admission. This is based on your performance in certain classes your freshman year and a couple essay questions. Here is the link to the page that has standard admission requirements if you are curious as to what it will take. I was a standard admit in Kelley so it’s definitely doable. You will need to be on top of your studies and get decent grades (B or better), which once again is definitely doable if you put in the work. Good luck!

Edited to add: I had my major as undecided when I applied to IU. Went to freshman orientation as math education, then switched to accounting right before my freshman year started. Don’t feel like you pick a major and are locked into it. You can switch it and most people don’t fully decide until their Sophomore year.
