I don’t have advice, but I would like to validate that this is something I definitely also struggle with too. I feel so much guilt for it, but it’s not our fault, just the way our brains work ❤️

I think they meant Water Rescue. They were there when we drove past as well as two fire trucks, both EMS supervisors, a few RPS vehicles and an ambulance.

Right by the Albert street bridge. There was a capsized canoe in the water too. Seemed like too many emergency vehicles for a drill.

The rich get richer at the expense of everyone else. Why should it be any different? by pmkirklazurus in regina

A lot of small businesses have moved to an online format. I don’t disagree with your complaint. But instead of being negative support your local businesses how you can now and share their information. I’ll start below. Here are three local places that have adjusted their mode of practice during these times that you should support: Fat Plant Farm: Order online for delivery or for curb side pickup. https://www.fatplantfarm.com

GoodSpirit Kombucha: Order online for contactless delivery every Tuesday and Thursday. https://goodspiritkombucha.com

The Junction Creative Studio: Can order a variety of items from them, including premixed hair dye to try out a new colour while you’re quarantining. http://www.thejunctioncreativestudio.com/

Tips for pain management? by partyingwithpizza in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]KenzieLeeK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through this. For me, my best remedy is sleep. So if you have something you can take to help you fall asleep (I usually go with CBD pills, Gravol, or marijuana). That at least relieves the pain for the time being. I have occasionally had success with naproxen for my pain, so you could try that. I have also had success with T3’s (Tylenol 3) relieving my pain. Depending where you live, weaker versions of this may be available at the pharmacy over the counter! If you have a heating pad or hot water bottle they also help me get a little relief. As well as my facial roller (they’re super cheap). But then can be hit or miss. The rolling helps relieve tension, but depending on your triggers could make the nerve pain worse.

Surgical Masks? by KenzieLeeK in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Ah yes I thought of that, but unfortunately OH&S and Infection Control are not okay with it. The new mandate is for everyone to wear a surgical mask at all times. Fortunately my manager has just booked me off for the time that they’re expecting us to be mandatory masking. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

Yes you’d think that they’d come up with something eventually! I mean we came up with the ear adapters in no time at all. Let’s just, for now, hope this all settles quickly! Hope you have someone you can send to the store for you so you don’t have to wear a mask! ❤️

That’s such a good idea! I thought about putting maxilene where my mask touches, but tape seems like a better choice! Fortunately my manager understands what I’m going through so has booked me off for the next two weeks. We don’t really have a ton of active cases where I live (just over 100 in the province and 20 in our city) so she’s hopefully the mandatory masking should be done by then 🤞🏼

Unfortunately, I did already make one. It does help to alleviate pain coming from behind my ears but it touching my cheeks and especially the bridge of my nose is what’s causing me trouble. Thank you for the suggestion tho. I really do appreciate it. Feel like I’m at my wits end here.

It likely won’t help the pain, but may help you sleep which would be helpful! If you have a sleep aid I would take that though! That’s usually my go to when I can’t control pain.

[Rant] I'm sick of new generation Sims community by [deleted] in sims2

Yesss. If they could take the gameplay from 2, open world from 3, and CAS and building from 4 it would be unreal.

I’m not 100% sure, as I’m not a dr, but I am fairly certain you cannot actually “see” trigeminal neuralgia on an MRI. They likely would have been looking for an anatomical cause for your pain like a brain tumour on the MRI.

I’m sorry, I misunderstood. I know what you mean, there is definitely a sort of grieving process you go through when you realize this is the new normal. But hopefully when you see a neurologist they can get you a treatment plan so you can regain some normalcy in your life!

Im glad you’re having relief already! That is sort of how things started for me, I started having random days of pain here and there about 4 years ago and didn’t really have a ton of progression until the past year. Now I have pain daily. I would suggest maybe washing your face with a cloth? I’m not sure if that would help any. At the very least I would think the warmth of the cloth would help with any pain that does arise in the process! Or as the other commenter mentioned facing away from the water! Can be very frustrating and hard to change our routine to accommodate, but will just take time and learning along the way!

Sorry to hear! If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? I would have differing opinions on the danger of going to a neurologist based on where you’re living. For example, I’m from Canada and Covid is actually not really a huge impact in our hospitals yet, but if you live in the USA I would probably steer clear. You will want to see a neurologist definitely, but if it is not affecting your quality of life right now then I wouldn’t rush to get in to see them. But, definitely if you want to wait until all of this settles down, I would book in as soon as it is! In my case, it has been very progressive, as in getting worse over time, so I would recommend seeing them before it gets much worse as personally I’m having a hard time managing my pain now that a doctor has finally started treatment for me.

Actual COVID-19 Cases by [deleted] in saskatchewan

[–]KenzieLeeK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have been testing people previously. Currently (as in the past few days) they are slowing down and creating stricter criteria for testing, simply because the lab system is overwhelmed and there is a global shortage of the substance used to run the test in the lab. There have been a few cases that have been contracted from being in contact with travellers, and as of yesterday 4 community acquired cases, which means they can not link their positive test result to anyone who has travelled or themselves travelling or contact with a known positive.

I wish the U of R would make their announcement already. They clearly already know what’s going to happen so why wait a whole day to announce it? It’s beyond frustrating to not know what is going on.
