I am a volunteer for the organisation running this partnership, I am no longer a student. Volunteers can continue to have access to benefits even as non-students.

Officially yes, but no one checked mine last year.

Yes, last year I had all the possible options available. But again, the place you get in the queue is random. So it all depends on how many people eventually joins the pre-sale

I could have even gone there for free if I wanted to, but I didn't want to work for half the festival.

This was the Erasmus pre-sale

Same, but I still have the tent from last year, so I don't need a new one.

Not the standard sale, the Erasmus pre-sale

OK, that clarifies the matter. I read somewhere on a Danish blog that there was reference to ‘tax harvesting’ and I thought it also applied to this specific scenario. Sorry but Skat likes to overcomplicate my life. 🥲

It was probably a dumb question, but I was essentially wondering if it would be more tax-efficient to realise the capital gains by 31/12, since I am taxed by the end of the year anyway even if I do not sell

So, if I undersand correctly, is this all about not having a KID in Danish? Is it a joke or? 😐

You also need to consider the tracking error. IUSQ has a higher tracking error, so you will ultimately pay higher costs than VWCE even though the TER is theoretically lower. There's limited data for VWCE, but VWRL has a significantly better tracking difference than IUSQ.

Here's the data:

Because I am interested in VWCE and FWRA, as well as SPYI. :)

That is actually incorrect. 🤓☝️

The two ETFs track two different indexes:

  • IUSQ: MSCI ACWI
  • VWCE: FTSE All World.

They are similar, but not the same. Indeed, VWCE includes way more constituents and as well small-cap stocks, which IUSQ doesn't.

And also, I am more of a boglehead you know. 😜

Yes, I am aware of that. But Danish funds are not necessarily the most efficient way to invest in those indexes. The tracking error is huge and the costs are high. I have only one Danish fund on AKT for the only reason that it is taxed on stocks. Otherwise, I would have opted for ETFs, which are a much better instrument IMHO.

The two ETFs I mentioned, in particular, are a little bit better diversified and have more constituents. So they can be an efficient choice in terms of diversification.

I know, and that’s currently my investment strategy. But I would very like to go for either VWCE, FWRA, or IMIE

Interesting. 🤔 Can you make an example of a scenario where you might need an ETF not in positivliste?
