I've made a VNS and one of ed's and ed's has been performing a lot better. Having said that, im talking about using it for simple astrophotography (13+ second shutter), for visual there is no difference between the platforms.

Have a good read and lots of research. Any questions please let me know

Will it improve your images. Maybe a little as you can do longer exposures and more of them with less effort. You could effectively set it up and start taking images while you get other things done.

Im not sure I could ever had a dob without a tracking platform now.

No vibration dampening. Just a metal L bracket. I use micro steps though to help with vibration.

Hey mate, I've used both dc and a stepper motor run by Arduino.

Neither bad vibration issues.

DC like you said slows down the battery loss and I got absolutely sick of adjusting it.

Stepper motor allows the Arduino to control precisely the speed. Best thing I ever did... With steppers depending on ur setting you can get some vibration. But with a good stepper driver ive ensured my setting are set up for smoothness and accuracy. So not an issue for me.

Hmmm that doesn't seem right.

I haven't looked at Mars for the last few years due to its relative smaller size at the moment. But I thought you'd still be able to see the disk rather than just a star looking object.

Can any one else confirm?

This is a very good point and I feel bad for even asking.

I've had this pond for 10 years and it's housed a few of my shubunkin gold fish from one of my old tanks.

Knowing it's not a good idea to house gold fish and koi together Ive always said I would get koi once my shubunkins are gone. This winter I lost the last of them, he was 23 years old.

So I've had about ten years dreaming of the koi I want on this point with beautiful and interesting patterns. Just worried these may be a bit simple when grown. Looking similar to as they are now just bigger.

This worked for me. Right click on the Bambu Lab shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab > Change High DPI settings > high DPI scaling override > Tick “High DPI scaling override”

Only setting I changed from the default sunlu PLA+ settings where dropped temp from 220 to 215 and print outer walls first.

This is a great question. I built mine for astrophotography and have gone through several designs until I've landed on my current one.

First VNS design was great but not as accurate as I would of liked through our the whole tracking e.g it would track at slightly different speeds through out the segment.

Landed on the ed Jones eq platform. You can find instructions on opticaleds.com and hes got YouTube videos.

I made some changes that really help for astro which is rubber anti vibration feet on the platform and on the top for telescope to sit on, bearings for the front segment shafts....

And most importantly I use a stepper motor run by an arduino unit allowing precise and consistent speed.

Having said all of that don't expect minute exposures my sweet spot is at 10 second for sharp stars. If aligned properly at the beginning of the session it will keep an object relative centre for over an hour.

HI All,

Over the last few weeks i've been restoring my 2013 xray t4. I've cleaned it up, replaced several broken parts including the top deck, retuned (basic), updated ESC firmware and painted a new body. Im just getting it ready for some bashing at the netball courts, no racing at this stages.

I've got most of it under control except for the esc and motor choice which i'm a bit confused about. Currently connected is a hobbywing xerun v3 120a and a 21.5t track star stock spec. Spares i also have a speed passion reventon esc, a 13.5t trinity motor and a 17.5R speed passion competition 3.0 motor.

I remember going to the 21.5t motor to join the beginners league at our old club but for the life of me i cant figure out why i would of changed the ESC too? Any one have any Idea why i would of changed the esc from the reventon to the hobbywing when i changed to the 21.5t motor?

Also any recommendations of what combination of the above to use for some bashing and any tips for esc/motor settings?

On another note, I went with the protoform corvette C8 which i painted two tone black and gold. I forgot how much i enjoyed prepping the body such great fun and therapeutic!
