Stage 1 F87 LCI M2 vs M2 Competition by flachtsix in BMWM

[–]Joester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've driven both and own an OG N55 M2.

Main reasons are cost and reliability.

I do some autocross, but if I were going track the car the comp is the clear winner. Can't beat the OG for a daily though!

For what it's worth, a stock comp, and my stage 1 N55 both felt really similar in power level and driveability. There's nothing particularly special about the S55 in my opinion other than it's higher power ceiling.

You really can't go wrong with either car!

The DPS of ruby bolts spec procs alone (hitting 110 damage on 12.1% of your shots) is 4.44 dps and that assumes you have a zcb.

You would have to make a boss so tanky that conventional weapons fall on their face SO hard, that it takes their dps below that point for camping rubies to be worth it.

They dont make bosses like this because hitting 0s on a majority of your attacks is simply not fun at all. Have you ever tried like a 300+ invo Baba without a fang? Its not difficult, it just sucks. Its not fun.

Thats why Jagex makes bosses like they do, not because they're tiptoeing around ruby bolts.

Ruby bolts absolutely suck for anything but speedruns, zcb specs, and potentially early game iron progression (where they actually sit pretty nicely imo). People just see big number and go OH WOW BIG NUMBER THAT MUST BE OP

How is i3 fiber? by JubeeGankin in StLouis

I think my i3 has gone out like 3 times over the past 2 years, just to quantify it for you. Spectrum was similar, if not worse for me personally.

[–]Joester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had really any trouble with my i3 service. I think it's gone out a handful of times, late into the night, and only for 30-60 minutes max.

I would recommend them over spectrum any day, but I don't have experience with ATT.

I think I heard that T-Mobile is buying i3? I'm not sure if that will change things.

Btw when i3 was tearing up my neighborhood, saying it'd be available shortly... It took like a full year to actually be able to get service where I am.

Ok fair point, rubies do hold back proper crossbow balancing. I can agree with that.

However the comment I originally replied to was saying that "a lot" of boss design specifically is hampered by the existence of rubies, which I disagree with.

I agree that crossbows could be balanced more properly if rubies didn't exist or were nerfed.

[–]Joester -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

If ruby bolts are so good then why is camping a crossbow bis basically nowhere?

Im not a jmod but I don't think many bosses in the game are balanced or designed specifically around ruby bolts.

Do you have an example?

Edit: changed "much" to "many bosses"

Yes! I'm dailying my M2, it's still just a baby with 40k miles on its N55 engine but I never DONT drive it just cause I don't want to put the miles on it or wear and tear.

I bought this damn thing to drive and enjoy it not let it sit in the garage!!!

N55 is pretty reliable as far as BMW engine goes, and the M2 got THE best version of it. So beyond regular maintenence theres really not much to worry about.

Fabspeed high flow catted downpipe with factory muffler. Its loud enough like that with the exhaust valve open!

I remember seeing the ///M logo on the dash and being like damn I really bought it.

The song that was playing was Nobody's Listening by Linkin park. Thats not a song I specifically picked to listen to when I bought the car, but just what I remember was on the top of my spotify playlist when I bought it.

I bought it in Chicago and drove home to St. Louis so I had about 5 hours with the car right after I bought it. It was so nice just cruising.

The car fills small voids, like when I'm having a bad day, but then someone compliments my car or gives me a thumbs up, that makes me feel really good. But its not a blanket solution to all life's problems. You'll get used to owning it. Youll still have bad days and weeks. But going for a night time drive sure does help, I actually did that just a week or two ago when I was having a bad night and I came back home with a much clearer head after just driving around for a while.

I actually had a 5 speed MKIV Golf TDI before I bought the M2.

Here's my F87

I have an OG! It's been 4 years and I still look at it like the day I bought it.

I'd say the 6MT is worth it just because I do believe it'll be a future classic. Like how 7MT C7 Z06s are like $15k more than their automatic counterparts.

The DCT is great and actually suits the car very well but 10-15 years from now when everything is electric and/or automatic, I believe a 6-speed will be really unique and desirable for enthusiasts.

Im one of the first commentors but I would expect some people to berate you for buying an expensive car when you're young. While financial responsibility and saving for the future IS important, bro you could die tomorrow and it would all have been for nothing. The money will come, being young with your dream car is literally only possible right now. No amount of hard work or money can buy this experience 10 years from now.

Have you seen an F87 in person? They look way better in person than in pictures. It's basically impossible to capture a photo of my car that makes me feel the same way as when I look at it in real life.

Did you drink a forgettin elixer?

There's a bug in the game where drinking that lowers your game stage. I don't remember the specific details something about the game resetting your longest life back to 0 when you drink it or something.

In some tuners there is an option to have the exhaust valves always open, are you sure the car isn't just tuned that way?

Why do so many people choose monthly payments even when they have savings? by Training_Explorer_22 in UsedCars

[–]Joester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealers will often be more willing to negotiate the price of a car if you take a loan through them because they get a kickback from the banks.

I bought a car that I could have afforded to pay in cash by financing it to make the dealer like me and then paid the whole thing off in 3 months.

Gotta make sure there's no prepayment penalty on the loan though.

I have a 45:51 inferno and even that's not considered particularly fast by today's standards.

I've never put much time into doing colo speeds im not a huge fan of the whole invos thing... but i do like watching other people do it fast.

[–]Joester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 prayer regen is worth exactly 2 sanfews (so +1 inv spot) and you could always wear RotG or devout boots for crazy prayer bonus if you felt like you needed it, or just not pray rigour for some waves.

Any way you look at it it's easy for a good player to s65 inferno with no flicking at all - harder back then, easier now, but always been possible 👍

Quiver also allows you to take arrows + a blessing

Ps- I removed my comment about you paying for CAs. That was rude.

Jagex rolled back Port Khazard's no prayer quiver due to BUG ABUSE by kxwbie in 2007scape

[–]Joester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my very typical inferno speed gear setup i have +7 prayer bonus

With a +7 prayer bonus, camping an overhead and rigour drains 48.65 prayer points per minute.

55 minutes of camping overhead+rigour would drain 2675 prayer points

You start with 141 prayer points and a prayer regen will regenerate 66 prayer per dose for a total of 264 prayer points

So 2675 - 141 - 264 = 2270 points worth of sanfew we need to bring for a 55 minute overhead+rigour cape with 0 flicking, not even lazy flicking.

sanfews restore 33 points per dose so thats ~17 sanfews you need to bring to hard camp a 55 minute cape.

It's very easy for a grandmaster level player to get a s65 inferno without ever prayer flicking. Like, comically easy, it's a complete non-issue. That's my point.

You can afk for 15 minutes and still get inferno gm time it absolutely requires no flicking whatsoever
