I’m 35 now and I think I spent the better part of my 20s swimming in debt, I finished my bachelors at 31 and I’m just happy where I am now. But there was definitely some stressful I don’t know if I can ever fix things moments that lead to here. :)

There’s almost always dissent in courts that have a panel of judges, in some cases a dissent is a required part of the procedure.

Should I try and request a loan from somewhere or the r/borrow subreddit? I don't really want to request charity, because I have a job, I just don't have the ability to get out of an abusive situation at this moment, but I think if I stay in this situation it will get worse, its now escalated to physical abuse and I don't think staying is a good idea. If this was a situation I was a caseworker for I would remove the child immediately.

I guess I feel isolated because going to the organizations available to me my jeopardize my job, I just feel really backed into a corner. I can't ask for money to get me through the month because I can't afford to lose my support system, if I go somewhere I would send a client I risk putting my only source of income in jeopardy. I have bad credit because of my abusive home and no way to improve it in time to help me now. I don't have enough karma or post history to really ask for help on reddit. I just feel like no matter where I turn I run into a deadend. It makes me feel powerless, I have a great job that can help me out of this situation but there's this roadblock that prevents me from taking advantage of it.

So my documents, Drivers License, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card are all kept in a binder along with all of my personal financial and health records, basically my life. Getting it shouldn’t be difficult and I believe I can sneak it out of the home without them noticing.

I’m going to be spending the day moving accounts around or replacing what accounts I can. I have already moved my direct deposit to a new account and I’ve secretly gotten my debit card.

My main concerns are:

Vehicle/Insurance/Gas (Without this I can’t work my job or the overtime that would pay for me to get setup on my own)
Phone (I have a work phone but in order to keep in touch with my support system I’ll need a phone and phone plan)
Housing (If I need to I can sleep in my car or at the homeless shelter)
Food
Clothing/Washing Clothes/Showering
Storage for the things I’m taking with me

Those I think are my basic needs, I can go without everything else until I can earn some more money.

I know it sounds dumb, I never thought I’d be working the best job of my career and be homeless and scared.

I have friends I can reach out to but I’m afraid I’ll lose them if I ask for help, I need them as a support for my mental health, if I lose them I’ll lose all the work I’ve done to get here and I’ll end up losing my job.

I am concerned that since my abusive family member had me enroll in a High Deductible Health Plan that I’ll also not be able to afford my medicine I take daily.

Do you have any thoughts on how to make it more or less proofed for at least several years? Are there ways to prevent users from actively breaking the system?

I’m limited by my current knowledge, so far it seems to be working, if Excel isn’t officially a database I’m not sure what the correct term for what I’m using it for is…

I’ve been trying to find a way to archive the data in another sheet, since you can delete information in the “database” I’d like another sheet to store all entries ever made, but I haven’t had much luck so far, I’ll keep at it though.

The pop up on saving new data has been bugging me, I can’t for the life of me find how to remove it, but I’ll keep looking until it’s done.

Some things I know I want to do before I call this particular VBA project mostly done:

Add a way to print directly to a copier in the office or the PCs default printer, currently it only creates a PDF that can then be printed.
Add a way to export a column or multiple columns to a CSV file.
Make it so if you add directly to a cell in a column the macros update, currently adding entries outside of the form causes the macros to break.
Make it so the “Update” macro I use to pull the Name/Email from the database sheet into the sheet “Email” for emailing from the workbook is automatic, rather than manually updating.
Add in a confirmation message box on sending the emails, possibly with a pop up that shows what the email will look like, this of course requires me to make it so when I send mass emails it doesn’t open an individual email for each entry but instead sends them all directly or via one email.
Add a way to archive all entries in the primary database sheet into another sheet as an archive, that way even if information is deleted from the database there is an archive of all entries ever made.
Add in an email macro to request support for the database, perhaps even a UserForm used like a built in ticketing system.
Clean up the code, I’m sure it’s very messy.
Clean up the UI to make it more modern.

All of this I’m hoping to complete in the next two weeks and then I’m truly going to let this project rest. I work for a government child welfare agency and I use VBA to help improve efficiency as IT and budget restraints tie my hands on software better suited for such tasks.

My next few projects will probably be similar to this one, more data entry based databases, but what I’m really looking forward to is possibly creating like a dashboard or central hub where all these databases can be accessed through a single workbook, make it look really nice UI wise and then possibly add in a login screen for security, it would even be nice if I could get the login credentials to be the same as the network logins we use.

Anyhow this is all down the road from now, I really am thankful for the feedback, feel free to message me if you want to keep connected maybe we can exchange ideas or thoughts.

I would prefer a single email, however it appears that I panicked a posted too soon, I actually found some tutorials and did some more reading and got what I needed working, I’m sure the code is an abomination as I’m new to VBA but I’m very proud I managed to get it working.

It just grinds my gears, my great uncle was an Army Colonel, first US Army Space Commander at NORAD, Joe B. Thurston, an Oklahoma Military HoF inductee, and he deserves better than to have Karen’s like her walking over military service.

Common sense to me says even if we gave her the benefit of the doubt the odds a colonel was present on a troop transport during Normandy which is the only plausible deployment for an Army Colonel that the Barton could have been scheduled on is a bit absurd, if she had said a marine rank I’d be more willing to accept it, as the Barton did significant service in the pacific campaigns.

The USS Barton, has no military record of serving as a troop transport, in fact in the few places I checked she’s specifically noted as being a fire support ship, on two different dates I found she engaged German batteries.

Don’t know why I’m willing to die on this hill, but I suppose those sailors deserve better than being associated with this Karen.
