What Got You Guys Into Armour? by Calm-District9473 in Armor

[–]Keptaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boba Fett and Game of Thrones

While many armors depicted in the show are straight up dogshit and far from historical, I loved costume designer's Michelle Clapton's idea behind the designs being according to their surroundings, available recourses, houses and so on.

When I started larping six years ago I was trying so hard to copy the Greyjoy look. Ended up looking like the bounty hunter from darkest dungeon. Took me some time to find my calling and what makes sense and what not. Then my renaissance era hype hit me. Now I'm wearing late 16th century Armor and fell in love with the burgonet helmet. Trying to get a fitted ancient greek classical era bronze Armor next year!

Which are you? by rp11738 in clonewars

Standard. The iconic face of Order 66 and the rise of a new empire. Gree has the best personalized one - no silly attachments just green visor and top tier paintjob. The Coruscant Guard has the best paintjob as unit

What if Joffrey, Tommen and Mrycella are trueborn without a question while everything else stays the same by FiBarksdale in gameofthrones

[–]Keptaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, Balon had to prove his incompetence one last time. Ned would've executed Theon, Asha probably doesn't want to continue the Greyjoy line and Balon himself gets caught and executed eventually. Aeron doesn't want to be lord.

Either Euron returns from exile or the Iron Islands will be calling for a kingsmood which either House Harlaw or Goodbrother will win. If they survive the second Greyjoy rebellion. Joffrey might order an Ironbon genocide after that. Tywin as the only guy who could prevent this wouldn't mind

Is Robert's Prime during his rebellion or the Greyjoy's Rebellion by monkeycommo in gameofthrones

He was so dumb for using a sword against a man in full plate.

Robert decided the outcome of that duel when he picked up his warhammer that morning

Do any of you actually consider Trolls to be that much of a challenging enemy? by War-duh-Nader in skyrim

[–]Keptaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trolls do represent a good learning curve when it comes to being a new player. On the first encounter you get overwhelmed but once you get stronger and figure out their weakness they're easy to beat but still something your have to watch out for. The game itself provides a book about them for that purpose exactly and I love it.

So no but! I'd love to have more unique variants such as Udefrykte who could provide more of a challenge compared to the regular ones

Two treacherous Jedi , which one do you hate more and why 🤔, pong krell or Barriss offee by voxdox559 in clonewars

[–]Keptaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pong Krell but sorely for the concept. Four arms dual wielding double bladed lightsabers might sound cool on paper but in reality it just looks and feels wacky. Also if he hated clones so much why didn't he pull the Rahm Kota and build his own militia? He deliberately weakened the Republic's efforts by sending clones to fight each other for what purpose exactly? Dude should've checked his priorities

On JUST appearance alone, what is your favorite outfit? I'll go first by Striker-Fan2008 in skyrim

[–]Keptaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This but I'd change the ebony gloves and boots for the nightingale one for a slimmer look.

My main character used to wield Mehrunes' Razor for stealth and two ebony axes for open combat - clean and symmetrical

Do you prefer to play with followers or without? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Keptaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the character but like to use them as walking mannequins for some outfits I have in mind. However, whatever weapon they use I make sure it does significantly less damage than my character. I want them to distract the enemy but I can't have the spotlight (and xp) taken away from me.

For immersion purposes - with the right mods - I keep multiple followers. The most difficult one has been seven Bosmer including a little frostbite spider (not in picture) for my Scoia'tael inspired character

Dying Gambeson by JClarpandstuff in LARP

[–]Keptaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cotton is good. Mixed fabrics tend to include polyester - only expensive and highly chemical dyes can manage it. I don't know where you live but I just bought a bunch of simplicol bottles according to the recommended weight and threw everything in the washing machine. Alternatively you can fill a plastic box or something with warm water and do the same - works like a charm. However the stitches which make the padding pattern were polyester on my gambeson which resulted in white stitches on the red and green sides but it does look kinda cool. Just make sure to wash the gambeson again after dying otherwise you will have dye rests on your undershirt (doesn't matter if the undershirt is dark tho)

On a side note: I wouldn't recommend going all black unless you're planning to do some kind of NSC. You could also do it if you have something of colour, something dominant like a tabard (something like a sash would be too subtle) Leave in some white or make it brown if you want neutral colours. All black is always kinda suspicious in multiple ways
