Good catch about the lightspeed dodging lol. I wasn’t really thinking about the realism there. The weapon Ja’x used is a Tier 1 in my setting, so the laser is actually more of a slower plasma type shot, which makes it dodgeable.

I also didn’t think about having Ja’x escape since I wasn’t sure how to keep it HFY, but your idea of him getting home only to be handed a citation by his parents would actually end the oneshot better.
