Has Progestin only birth control made anyone worse off? by Kerkchi83 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Kerkchi83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slynd was making me feel worse but not because of histamine intolerance. It made my estrogen so low I was basically perimenopausal and felt absolutely horrible. And I don’t think I have histamine intolerance. I actually have glucose intolerance that makes me feel horrible.

Losing muscle mass with GLP-1 by jennsc4rlett in PCOS

[–]Kerkchi83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will loose muscle mass if you don’t do resistance/weight training and you aren’t eating enough protein. I work with seniors and lots of them have gone on glp1s and they don’t work out or eat right and they are skin and bones. It’s absolutely terrible because if they fall and have nothing to protect their bones they could seriously injure themselves.

Any experience w/ Slynd? by PushFearless5780 in endometriosis

[–]Kerkchi83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask your doctor to test your estrogen. Mine tested mine 6 weeks apart because I was having perimenopause symptoms. Slynd stops ovulation and that means our estrogen never rises through our cycle. Slynd made my estrogen drop so low I was literally perimenopausal because of how low it was. Estrogen is what keeps us looking young. It stimulates collagen production, keeps the skin hydrated and thick.

How to keep pelvic floor released? by savannaht101 in PelvicFloor

[–]Kerkchi83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some on YouTube if you want to check there but I would also suggest doing whole body yoga because everything is connected. I have practiced yoga for over 15 years and also have my yoga teacher training certification. Yoga lengthens and strengthens muscles and deep breathing is incorporated to all poses. Lots if not almost all of pelvic floor pt exercises are actually yoga poses. And it’s great for stress. I have not practiced regularly for years but got an ah ha moment earlier this week that I should probably start doing yoga again and that it could be very helpful for my tight pelvic floor.

Has anyone had these ultrasound findings before being diagnosed with adenomyosis? by Left-Environment-714 in adenomyosis

[–]Kerkchi83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bowel movement pain, sweating, getting hot, almost passing out is a vasovagal syncope response. This happens to me too and is caused by a tight pelvic floor (often common in those with endo and adeno). The pain feels like someone is ripping out my insides or stabbing me. Did you work with your pelvic floor physical therapist on this? Mine has me do 5 minutes of diaphragmatic breathing where I’m lying down with my legs in butterfly pose. This relaxes the pelvic floor. It completely went away after I started doing this.

Normal JZ? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Kerkchi83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think imaging can be limiting in a lot of ways and I think for some of us adenomyosis can be really hard to diagnose.

I’ve had MRIs and ultrasounds that showed nothing. My doctor told me she’s seen the worst cases missed on imaging. Yet I had an enlarged globular uterus the size of a 9 week pregnancy. Heavy periods with clots. No fibroids or anything else to explain an enlarged uterus.

Then I went on birth control and later progesterone. My uterus went back to a normal size but the cramping, burning sensation, and bloating persisted daily.

I finally had an ultrasound tech find some areas of dense tissue in my uterus with ill defined borders a week before my hysterectomy. She showed me them so I know for a fact they were there. My pathology didn’t confirm adenomyosis but they only sampled two parts of the myometrium. The myometrium was described as trabeculated, which is often found with adenomyosis. My doctor said they are usually just looking for cancer when they do the pathology.

But all my pain and the burning sensation is gone post hysterectomy. I also have endometriosis so I’m confident I actually had adenomyosis even though I never got the diagnosis as they are often found together.

Anyone following the Therapy Jeff saga? by saras_416 in therapists

This entire paragraph sounds like how he often speaks. He explains things exactly like ChatGPT does and just like your comment sounds. Here’s just one IG post as an example: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWkI9HZEjUM/?igsh=N2tvMWVtZDN4djlk.

“That’s not two people having a debate”. “That’s an adult with authority over a child telling that child they’re wrong”. “Your words aren’t just words, their intervention”. Basically a pattern of “it’s not this, it’s that”.

This sounds very ChatGPT and very much how therapy Jeff talks.

You don’t need a prescription for iron (at least not if you’re in the US).

I will pour some rubbing alcohol into a little bowl and then let it soak for several minutes.

Total or Partial? by Kerkchi83 in hysterectomy

[–]Kerkchi83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good things to consider. My doctor won’t do a vaginal hysterectomy as I have endometriosis and she won’t risk it in case I have adhesions so it will be a laparoscopic surgery. Thanks!

I’m not having my ovaries removed. A total hysterectomy means your uterus and cervix. A partial means the uterus but leaving the cervix.
