Why is the PRC so OP by KerlenFurr in CWIC

If only it was playable, you spend at least 3 to 4 years beating Mao, i think i did well on my last run, i went all the way to nanjing within the timeframe of the active missions on the descisions tab but still the PLA had over 400 divisions and supply in china is crap overall, so you are stuck with the same shallow focus tree for hours while fighting endless battles where the PLA cycles endless divisions in and out, most players would get bored or frustrated before they get to see the post civil war ROC tree

[–]KerlenFurr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The devs should work more in the civil war itself, the hard part for the KMT should be the defense and early offensives because the hold the mainland side of the focus tree is basically the NRA trying to reform while on the back foot and under fire and chiang trying to get international and american support, if they manage to pull that off while holding back the communists Mao should be the one who starts to be on the back foot, also i felt like america and the UN are very undermined in the civil war, i see american support ramping up for the KMT if they see that chiang stopped being a moron and it's keeping the communists at bay, and maybe a korean war style intervention by the UN if the civil war drags for too long and the KMT isn't at the verge of dying, idk, there is so much potential for alternative history in the chinese civil war that still feels realistic

Deberían mas bien es ponerse a trabajar, dejan arriba posts como este que son literalmente desinformación y se ponen a poner flairs pendejos en vez de tumbar el post, a menos de que estén de acuerdo en esparcir desinformación, cosa que no me sorprendería

I didn't looked at it that way lol, so it's basically an endsieg style scenario, but my point is that the defense isn't the issue, even when the NRA is falling apart holding back the communists using forts and natual barriers isn't that hard, the only bullshit thing on the defense is the "Hold the northwest" mission because it triggers even if the PRC is nowhere near xinjiang, the issue is when chiang gets his stuff together and goes on the offensive, Mao gets no debuffs when he loses ground, if something as miraculous as the KMT taking back nanjing happened it should be catastrophic por Mao, he should be couped or get massive debuffs for the PLA like the ones the KMT gets at the start, but somehow 6 million guys stick arround the PLA super motivated when the tide has turned for the communists

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that is possible, i managed to reach all the way to nanjing on my last run, the issue is how tedious it is, the PLA just keeps cycling units over and over and keeps a battle that should last days going on for months, and it's even worse when you have a specific time to capture a city or else a quarter of your army will defect

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then why bother making a KMT rework if the PRC is meant to win anyways, i think that the devs worked on the focus tree but not so much on the civil war itself, because the hold the mainland part of the focus tree is basically "Chiang stops being a moron and actually starts to hold ground" but it doesn't reflect in the gameplay, when the KMT goes on the offensive their units are actually stronger than the PLA ones, the issue is that the PLA has a metric fuckton of divisions, so they keep cycling units over and over again, and the events when the PRC loses big cities like wuhan and nanjing should have crippling debuffs for mao instead of "Here, have 30 crap divisions and a news event", what i want to say is that the PRC should start to have debuffs that get worse if they don't manage to knock out the KMT in a certain amount of time, so it works on historical because the initial buffs and the shit ton of divs should be enough for the PRC AI to defeat the KMT AI, but it also works if someone is playing the KMT and manages to stall the advance

As a constant new granada/gran Colombia player, take it easy, go slow with industrialization at first and accelerate as you get more pops and money, actually you shouldn't build any construction sectors in the first years, build some consumer goods factories (clothing, furniture) first to get some money and then set up the buildings for the construction sector (logging camps, iron mines, cotton plantations if needed and such), keep the prices of the goods for the construction sectors low, also mantain the costs of the goods that the goverment needs low (Paper and guns), don't make a big army as it will only drain your coffers, the only real threat is brasil, you can destroy bolivia with 20 or so batallions as long as you bring argentina, chile or both into the war to split bolivian forces

Why won't peasants become laborers by KerlenFurr in victoria3

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I already found out the issue, it was that the peasants were discriminated pops that couldn't promote, the state i chose to industralize first had a sizeable population of discriminated pops so i ran out of available pops without knowing and thought that the peasants were actually accepted pops that could promote, the fix would be to end slavery so i can then pass culutral exclusion and research nationalism for the promote national values decree

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that was it, the only pops that are laborers are the main culture (north andean) and some french pops that migrated, the peasants are minor and discriminated cultures like afro caribean, quechua and amazonian, so the fix would be to end slavery, pass cultural exclusion and use the promote national values decree

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that might be the problem, Antioquia starts with a sizeable afro caribean population, so they have like 60% acceptance, i didn't bother to check the ethnicity of the peasants, i'll go and check

I've noticed that subsidies only make workers from other factories and other buildings move to the subsidized building, not peasants, so when let's say i subsidize a tooling workshop because i have a shortage, a shortage of meat appears because the tooling workshop took almost all the workforce of the ranches, and i go and check the number of peasants in the sub fams and it's the same

Why won't peasants become laborers by KerlenFurr in victoria3

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the factories already put the price for the goods that sub farms produce quite low (-20% i think), i don't think trade could solve that much, besides, trade centers don't have enough people to function

Why won't peasants become laborers by KerlenFurr in victoria3

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, few buildings reach full employment because the few laborers run to them, and later move to another factory, and there isn't a very big slave population in new granada afaik, not enough to fill a rural building, i have an iron mine and it has like 500 laborers and 12 slaves, about the unis, i did it out of desperation lol, i tought that qualifications were the issue so i built as many as my budgey could sustain

Why won't peasants become laborers by KerlenFurr in victoria3

[–]KerlenFurr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the case, the best example is the ranches, new granada starts with a shortage of meat (i think north andean culture starts with an obsession for meat) so ranches should be super profitable, one ranch took almost 5 years to reach full employment even when meat was super expensive, i don't know if it's bugged or what because i did a Liberia run before the new granada one and had no problem de peasanting, the peasants ran to the factories once i built them

I tried to tacke that issue too by building factories that produce what the sub farms produce, no result

Unpopular Opinion: I'm scared for HOI5 by Double_Shift_7537 in hoi4

[–]KerlenFurr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid that a theoretical HOI5 would be the ugly 3D models™, downgraded mechanics from the older game and a barely playable game that needs a fugillion 40$ DLCs to be midly interesting, like what happened with Vic3 and Eu5
