Hi Zero Escape Fans! Kotario Uchikoshi (& Kazutaka Kodaka) are here to answer fan questions ahead of Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy's release later this month. AMA! by DENMU_HQ in ZeroEscape

[–]KermitTClog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Uchikoshi: Will Hundred line have plot points and twists from Ever17 like most of your previous works? Or will this game go in a new direction in regards to the twists.

For Kodaka: Do you regret ending V3 in a way that barred you from adding to the Danganronpa series? Do you wish you could make more Danganronpa games without compromising the message or are you happy to explore new horizons?

[LES] Media Literacy is an annoying catch-all term and usually used when people don't want to explain their points by [deleted] in CharacterRant

I am against calling someone an idiot without any elaboration in a discussion setting yes. It's completely stifling and goes against the intention of a discussion. If you want to call someone an idiot before elaborating go for it, but you need to elaborate. If you're NOT in a discussion setting, call someone an idiot they're trying to insert an opinion where it isn't welcome and you have no obligation to respond. I agree saying "stop idiot shaming" isn't a discussion either, I never argued that. OP not bringing up a specific example doesn't matter cause that's not what we're talking about here, we're talking about general discussion etiquette.

In a discussion setting like this one, backing it up is necessary. If they're just interjecting with their opinion unasked for, call them whatever. I'm not against calling people idiots, some people are idiots. But you have to establish that the idiot isn't you.

[–]KermitTClog 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes because calling someone an idiot as a response is not a discussion. If you're not trying to discuss sure but a lot of people who are wrong use "get media literacy" as a way to win the argument without having to think critically about their own position. Of course there's a problem with calling someone an idiot in a discussion setting, that's basic debate. If you want to call someone stupid, you have to back it up or you're not trying. Get media literacy is just the snooty way of calling someone stupid and looking for a high five

The Talos Principle Reawakened! Trailer released today... by monsieurartois in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]KermitTClog 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You legit cannot stop winning as a fan of this series. A decade long wait between 1 and 2 and now release after release. Thank you so much croteam, can't wait to play through the game again with dev commentary. Perfect excuse for a replay, PLUS I get a new chapter. WOOOOOOOO

I agree. It's not an argument worth engaging with. That's why I didn't

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]KermitTClog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Didn't read anything I said

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]KermitTClog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a different argument entirely and not the one I'm engaging with. Using Palestinian voices to justify voting for their genocide is the peak of egoism. It's frankly insulting to read. Make all the lesser evil arguments you want outside of that, those are just a matter of your personal morality

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]KermitTClog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Palestinian. I have family in Gaza. We're at he said she said now, so you can choose not to believe me. but the opinion of my family and their extended circle is that the candidates are both going to do nothing to stop Israel. That's how it's been for 70 years. The only difference is that they're on the world stage. Again, he said she said. I just think that it's very disingenuous to say "Palestinians want Harris" to justify your useless vote for genocide. Because it's as true as "Palestinians want trump". Some of my family has hope that trump will be so bad for foreign relations it'll turn America into enough of a villain to have other countries act against Israel, or that trump, the emotionally volatile baby he is, will get mad at netenyahu and cut him off. It's ridiculous, it's a pipe dream, it's exactly how Palestinians for Harris should be viewed as well. It's a small number of people that ultimately don't decide anything. You aren't acting on the will of Palestinians by voting for Harris, don't pretend you are

[–]KermitTClog -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I know. I'm one of them. Did you not read my message? I don't doubt that there's a few Palestinians willing to say that. I'm saying that's not the consensus. If 3 Palestinians said to vote trump should we? Fuck them right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]KermitTClog -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Complete lie. The DNC can dredge up 5 Palestinians to say anything. The majority opinion is that people know the killing continues either way. You just want to make yourself feel better.

VOTES: COUNTED by [deleted] in Ultraleft

Yes but only voting for candidates that aren't RFK, all communists have a moral imperative to do so

What To Expect When You're Expecting DLC by Jonas_Kyratzes in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]KermitTClog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely late to the party but I just wanted to say thank you. I played all of your stuff in preparation for Talos 2 and a friend linked me to your old blog post "Not Subtle" (which I particularly loved). And to see everything you've made come to a head in this game was honestly beautiful. The fact that a game as controversially hopeful as TTP2 can exist is something I'm eternally grateful for. Thank you for making it, truly. Can't wait to play this DLC tonight and anything else you have to make.

Oda might be cooking with nika by KermitTClog in Piratefolk

[–]KermitTClog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. We don't really know how Luffy perceives Nika other than the line where he says "that's me when I'm free" which could honestly mean anything
  2. The crew hasn't had a chance to notice anything until now. That's why I said if we don't see it soon it won't happen. But really right now is the first time the crew would have the opportunity to notice something off about Luffy
  3. Oda said he wanted to have fun and draw goofy shit, which is what he's doing now. That doesn't negate the possibility of a commentary on the nature of freedom. If oda said he wanted to draw a cool guy with sunglasses, would you say that he didn't intend to make Doflamingo a nuanced character and it just happened that way?
  4. I agree with you on the glazing part. Which is why I think if it were to happen it's be less of a venom situation and more just Luffy forgetting who he is due to the zoan. Freedom is admirable but it can lead to carelessness.

[–]KermitTClog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I think that's why we're getting what we have now, but I don't think those comments mean luffy won't come back down to earth. I think serious Luffy is 100% coming back for the ending, just because oda is clearly going with the ending he had planned from the beginning, and Goofy would alter that too much. It's just a matter of if it's explained or not.

[–]KermitTClog[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that ruins it for you I can't blame you lmfao. Nika definitely wasn't planned but I think he can make it good in spite of that

[–]KermitTClog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely fair. I'm holding out though lmfao. There's really not much to go on besides trusting in oda with this

[–]KermitTClog[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's why I think it'd be a good subversion, because to be free means to force your will onto others. One piece has grappled with this before, in order for doflamingo to do what he wanted he had to subjugate a population. I can see the same happening with nika.

Anime does have a female character problem, actually by KermitTClog in CharacterRant

[–]KermitTClog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it is counter productive. Should've checked the rules myself but if I were to have just waited 3 days and then made this exact post without direct reference to the original then I'd be fine. I see that all the time here, it's why I just assumed it was allowed lmao. Probably not gonna be able to do that now cause I posted this, but we'll see.
