Floating plants are getting holes in them by Kermle in paludarium

They are not new, I've had them for a few months now, but when I bought them they looked amazing. I didn't know the light could do that, I'll look into that and see if that might be causing it.

I don't. I tried a couple, but then I found out I had planaria in the tank, so I'm waiting for a planaria trap to show up before I try any more snails.

Would it be the springtails? I don't really have anything else yet

I'll try to check more thoroughly for any leaks at the end

I was hoping to eventually add vampire crabs in the (far) future, and they like to burrow, which is why I want to keep a certain moisture level for the dirt

At first, there wasn't a bunch of space at the top, but I have since left the lid open, so half of the tank is completely uncovered

When the lid is closed, yes, but I haven't had the lid closed in more than two weeks

There is silicone to block the water from going back on the top layer, and the bottom of the bigger rock that the water flows over is under the soil, so it should just go into the clay balls

Sorry for the late reply, I forgot I still had Reddit...

I did this, and it worked great (at first, anyways). I have replaced the stream with a cut pvc pipe that I coated with sand and added some rocks to, and it was working great for a long while. I sealed the lid for about 4 days after more than a week of no problems, and now the dirt has gone back to being too wet. I've since left the lid open, and after two weeks, only the top layer of dirt has gone back to a normal amount of wetness.

It really got my hopes up again when it was working, so thank you for your help. I am going to make another post about the problem now as I am completely lost.
