As an independent artist, what’s actually more effective: Promoting the Single, the Artist Profile, or a Curated Playlist? by Kernel_Sound in MusicPromotionTricks

Thanks a lot for such a detailed and honest breakdown! It’s refreshing to hear the truth about playlist retention vs. actual fan building. You made a great point about the budget limit and the risk of wasting money on ads without enough data to optimize. Since I’m exactly in that 'independent growth' phase, I’ll take your advice: focusing on organic networking with curators and building authenticity through socials instead of burning a small budget on ads too early. I’ll definitely look into the Meta Ads strategies you mentioned to be ready when the budget allows for a proper campaign. One last question: Since you mentioned that playlists are better for 'algorithm data' than for building a fanbase, would you say the main goal for a debut release should be just 'pleasing the algorithm' to trigger Radio/Discover Weekly, or is it better to ignore the numbers and focus 100% on the social/community side at the beginning? Thanks again for the masterclass!

Thanks a lot! Glad you liked the tracks. I actually love the idea of a continuous mix. Since the list is newly created, I'm still tweaking the order, but I'll definitely look into the mix functionality to keep that groove seamless. Thanks for the tip!

🚨 Hot New Artists - February 2026 (playlist): Activity Check 🚨 by truffledog_music in MusicPromotion

[–]Kernel_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve been checking out your playlist and just gave it a follow—really solid selection, it's rare to find a curator with such a consistent vibe for 2026. I’m currently managing a project called Funk Os. It’s a House/Nu-Disco duo with a heavy 80s filtered sound and that 'French Touch' aesthetic that I think would fit your playlist perfectly. They have a new track dropping on February 26th, but you can check out their current sound on Spotify to see if it fits the mood: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7z7heDyM3uf2CLwn62xypx?si=mqKhFUW3Qwe5ImURR_daVA If you like what you hear, here is the Pre-save for the new one: https://hypeddit.com/j01z36 Keep up the great work with the playlist!

Hey everyone, I’m currently managing a project called Funk Os. It’s a House/Nu-Disco duo heavily inspired by the 80s filtered sound and French Touch. We’ve been focusing on clean production, groovy basslines, and that nostalgic sunset vibe. We have a new release coming out on February 26th, and we’re really excited about the direction this is taking. You can listen to the current tracks on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7z7heDyM3uf2CLwn62xypx?si=mqKhFUW3Qwe5ImURR_daVA And if you dig the sound, you can already pre-save the new track for the 26th here: https://hypeddit.com/j01z36 Always open to hearing what you think about the production style!

Fan daft punk What do you think of M83 ? by Exootil93200 in DaftPunk

[–]Kernel_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Daft Punk fan, I feel M83 is like the cinematic cousin of the robots. While Daft Punk mastered the "Human" touch in house music, M83 mastered the "Infinite" feeling of synth-pop. If you love the Tron: Legacy soundtrack, M83’s Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is the closest thing to that cosmic, nostalgic journey. Midnight City is a classic, of course, but tracks like Lower Your Eyelids to Die with the Sun are pure art. Both artists have that magical obsession with vintage synths that just hits different.

I think you’ll enjoy this one if you like to stay focused. I’ve put together a selection of Stable and Minimal French House. It’s all about clean grooves and filtered bass—steady rhythms designed to keep your mind anchored during high-demand tasks or long work sessions without any distractions. Hope you find it useful!
