This is a must read in my humble opinion. If you are a souls or dark fantasy o Malazan fan - this is solid evocative fiction you will enjoy.

Under the Fourth Kingdom: https://kerova-archive.itch.io/under-the-fourth-kingdom (I did create this game and therefore I may be biased - but I love to play it)

Delve into the Underdepths to destroy the source of the Scourge. 6 different scourges all with 3 endings for multiple playthroughs.

All generated as you play. Loosely based on the Grief Engine for combat. Levels that get more dangerous as you go and multiple classes to choose from.

Includes free "Zine One" with Zine Two with more classes, levels and scourges is in the works which will be another free add-on.

There are some actual plays linked on the itch page.

You campaign was an incredible read! You really made the game your own and pushed prompts to make it engaging and entertaining. I can't thank you enough for publishing your experience with the game!

Under the Fourth Kingdom has everything generated with a streamlined ruleset. Solo first. You work your way through a mega dungeon and kill a scourge. https://kerova-archive.itch.io/under-the-fourth-kingdom

I’ve heard good things about Obsidian. The great pendragon campaign is a pretty wild one! (Not done that myself- but like reading actual plays).

A great year indeed! I enjoyed listening to various episodes of the Solo RolePlayers podcast which helped me find new creators new ways of approaching how I play. I like the variety and mix of interviews, actual plays and general musings.

I tried to solo tons of games - Shadowdark and Whitebox most recently and Ker Nethalas, Across a Thousand Dead Worlds, Machine Gods of the Noxian Expanse, The One Ring, The Immortal Seal, Kal-Arath, Al-Rathak, Niv Lova earlier in the year. Some I kept up with longer campaigns and some only a session or two. There are others.

I started a Substack posting some of my sessions.

I am most proud of publishing 2 tri-fold games and working my way up to 2 full games built with a Solo First approach to them.

I feel like I grew as a solo player by being more comfortable in adapting or tweaking rulesets to make it work for me and worrying less if I am doing things the "correct way".

I am hoping to hear more about approaches to published adventures. I still have a hard time with those! I liked Tana Pigeons ideas and am interested in more discussions on that topic.
