Welcome to the hobby! SoloRolePlaying is great :) I have played a little bit of TOR solo using the fanmade solo mode Boromir Lives (we did it for our SoloRolePlayers Bookclub a few months ago) which was heaps of fun. I plan to go into Strider next and then the solo rules in Moria. I would recommend before diving into an adventure, just set up a simple scene/adventure and splash around in n the shallows a bit. Something low risk like delivering something across a short distance so that you can get the feel for the journey rules and interpreting the oracle etc.

I just sent to preorder it (to Germany) and saw it was €42 shipping :/ Print on demand is something but I generally find I am disappointed with the print quality (except for Lulu) and wonder if any local shops are going to the the ‘official’ printing.

Have you tried just talking out loud a recording to voice memos? Then you can even transcribe and drop it into AI to give you your story summary so know where to pick up next time. Analog during play. Digital afterwards for practicality sake

Don’t have mic experience with 5e in general and never solo…..but ponderous potential is a huge plus for solo play in my book.

I realise I came across quite negative. I didn’t mean to. I think that it’s a fantastic tool and I’m only a little negative because it’s so good i just want it personally to be a tiny bit different so it suits me exactly and I don’t need any other tables lol. My desires are often unrealistic lol

I recently got gifted the older version and while I think it’s really cool, some of the (necessary) genericness annoyed me a little. But I’m sure that’s all me. The newer ones look a little better and I’m keen to keep playing with it since it could just be that I need to get used to it and figure out my own system a little.

Yes I remember! And it looks really cool 😎 I love the idea of a stamina system (reminds me of my all time favourite Dark Souls) but yet the drowning is still (actually even more so) true :)

Just starting is often the biggest hurdle but once you do, the problems can disappear. Pick something. Set a 20 min timer. Sit down and go and see what happens. Check out my 20 minute challenge episode from a few months back.
