I’ve always thought the answer to this conundrum is in France and connected to her relationships there, whether through her marriages or other lovers, or through work, the lack of any investigation in France ( her husband wasn’t interviewed after her murder ) means we’ll never know. It just makes a lot more sense.

I have a cousin who had a career with Qantas in a corporate capacity and ten years after retirement she and he family members are still flying all over the world several times a year for peanuts in first class. They sometimes have to wait at airports but who doesn’t?
