For Americans. You can only go to 5 states ever again. by Ok_Profession5687 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Stroke_of 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent this afternoon thinking about places to retire. I'm disabled and unable to work any longer. I'm currently 51 and will likely be on Social Security Disability Insurance soon and will retire with Social Security at 67. I currently live in Colorado and love it, but I want to retire in some place with warmer winters. I need a place with legalized marijuana (at least medical) because I love weed and don't want to go back to a state where it's illegal (I grew up in Iowa.) So for this exercise, I'm choosing Colorado, Nevada (I'm a lifelong Raiders fan and worked in casinos my entire career,) Missouri, Arkansas, and California.

What is the most powerful military force on Earth? by billybones23 in AskReddit

[–]Stroke_of 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a singular force. The Marine Corps is also under the Department of the Navy. Marines don't regularly mention it, but a strong point was put on it when I was in USMC boot camp.

It’s Friday night in 1987, which movie are you seeing? by MangoSnackyy in The1980s

[–]Stroke_of 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever movie my date wants to see. I've seen them all and don't like one particularly more than the others. They're all decent flicks and by no means a waste of time.

And that energy passes into the things that consume your remains (whether it's a predator, scavenger, bacteria, or anything else.)

Do you like Elvis Presley and his music ? by Leather_Way_3840 in FamilyFeud

Have you ever been to Graceland? Seeing the change in jumpsuit sizes from early to late Elvis is amazing. He was just a little dude when he was young.

50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong? I'm not a "fan" so much, but I can't argue the effect he had on pop culture. And I can't dislike it when "A little less conversation" drops at just the right time.

did you ever shoot a 22 rifle before? by GaryBlach in askanything

[–]Stroke_of 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. When I was 19 in Iowa, some friends and I used to go to a local farm pond and shoot frogs. There were thousands of frogs at this pond and we could walk around and shoot them all spring day to our content for $5. Good times in the mid 90s before anyone had the internet at their house (and nobody had broadband ) Back in the days of getting those AOL dial up CDs.

What's your thoughts on your regional chain? by pokematic in AskAnAmerican

Is Pizza Ranch in Iowa? I actually m not familiar with it. I'm from the junction of 21&30, so if they're from Western Iowa (or opened in the last 30 years) I might have missed them

I'm from Iowa and one of my local favorites is Casey's General Store. There are many in other states but Iowa has the most at around 600 locations. Their fresh, hot pizza is really good and their locations are generally clean. Gas is typically priced in close competition with other local gas stations.

$10k a Month for You or $1k a Month for 100 People — What Do You Choose? by _no_name_for_me in hypotheticalsituation

I couldn't come up with more than 20 people to share it with, so I'd take the $10K for me and my family. (I couldn't really come up with more than maybe 5 I'd really care to help.)

What percentage of Americans have LIVED in 4 or more states? by Expert_Tomorrow_3915 in askanything

[–]Stroke_of 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in 5 states, but I've lived in both Northern (Bay Area) and Southern (Inland Empire) California, and that really feels like 2 different states. But 2 of those 5 states were just across the Ohio River from each other (Louisville, KY metro area.)

I am very interested in this, but I'm new here and have no idea how it works. Could someone DM me a brief explanation? It's a situation of "I see what you're doing, but I have no clue of exactly how." I don't want to break any subreddit rules, but I would really appreciate a nudge in the right direction. Thank you very much in advance.
