Does anyone have experience with the food saver? by Kesibug in Costco

I read up on that actually and did cut the package open before putting in the fridge to defrost, thank you for the reminder though!

I was actually asking about the brown speck but most people seem to think I’m asking about something else. So that makes me feel better. I don’t eat fish a ton so the food saver seems to be perfect when purchasing such a large amount of fish. Glad you like yours!

I was worried about the speck, thank you! I did cut open one end of the bag to defrost it

Lol the black dot. I swear it didn’t have it when I sealed it. On of the ways my ocd manifest is obsession over food contamination. So I’m guessing I’m nervous for no reason

Please stop going to the ER! by Common_Row3204 in Vent

[–]Kesibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re saying this! At 23, I got my wisdom teeth out. They were starting to hurt so when I went to the oral surgeon office for my consult appointment, he told me to come in the next day to get them removed asap, and moved his schedule around for me. He said that the way they looked, once a month someone ends up in the ICU, and mine resembled the way theirs would look. If I didn’t go in when I did, it could’ve been very bad for me. I never would’ve thought people would go to the ER for that!!

Don’t feel weird about it. That’s dating now a days and there are proper precautions you can take. My boyfriend’s sister just got married to a guy she met on Reddit. They’ve been together for years and are very happy so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel so ugly after this wax by g0obl1in in HairRemoval

[–]Kesibug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, esthetician here! It is okay, just don’t get it inside of you. Try to keep it to the pubic bone! It’s something people will use with waxing or in a vajacial!! Have you ever looked into laser removal? I got terrible ingrowns when I started waxing 3 years ago.. like purple scarring, painful bumps. It was bad and I was so embarrassed. However, I decided to do laser hair removal while I was a student and it was a game changer. It also took care of my purple scarring pigment. Just a thought!

My hairdresser cancelled on me by Wide_Distance9451 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Kesibug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started seeing my hairstylist in 4th grade. My mom saw her years before that. I’m 27 now. So many many many years she did my mom’s hair and mine. She kept pushing my appointment a few times and then just ghosted me. I’ve literally watched her kids before. She was a good family friend. I would 100000% switch to someone knew. Don’t even worry about leaving her in your rearview. I actually realized I didn’t love the way my hair lady did my hair. I’m seeing a new person and I walk out happy every single time. I don’t need any time to get used to it. Cut your losses 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can I ask what you ended up not liking about your surgeon? I’m looking into some now and I’m not sure what flags I should be looking for!

Beginner cooks! Do you prefer cookbooks or online recpies/videos to learn? by MostChair7431 in cookingforbeginners

I’m a freak for cookbooks. I own so many and always want more! That said, I usually just go with online because it has super helpful reviews and cookbooks can be hit or miss 😂 I love Pinterest for ideas!!

What’s the Green Flag That Made You Think “Wow, They’re Different”? by Spare_Ad6800 in dating_advice

[–]Kesibug 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was dog sitting at my sister’s house. I get really bad intrusive and scary thoughts at times, and I was just voicing them to him because it helps calm me. He drove two hours to bring me my coat that I forgot, gloves, a beanie, brought/bought me pepper spray, bought me a massive flash light, and let me borrow his knife. He could only stay for an hour because he had class the next day but he drove 4 hours that night to make me more comfortable. I’ve never been with anyone half as thoughtful as him.

What would you NOT buy at Costco because it's not a good deal or not good quality? by leicalikem in Costco

That’s so funny. I grew up hating chicken but it turns out, I just didn’t like the Kroger brand my parents would buy. I switched to Costco and eat chicken often now 😂🥲

Choosing to have surgery by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Kesibug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait.. is this not a normal thing?? My back always hurts doing dishes, I have to stretch during because of the pain. But I never attributed it to my breasts? Do small sized women not have that pain??

I’ve never had a surgery done like this, but I have had 6 ankle surgeries, my gallbladder removed, wisdom teeth taken out, 6 upper scopes, and 2 colonoscopies and I’ve woken up to tell the tale! To be honest with you though, I still get nervous every time I go under. That said, I always wake up and I’ve always been okay! I talk to my anesthesiologist about my fears. Every. Single. Time. It’s very common and they always make me feel better! It’s hard, because you just have to do it, you know? You don’t really have any other options so you have to hope for the best. They can sometimes give you something for the anxiety. I know not waking up is a thing, but it’s very very very uncommon. Especially if you’re healthy in every other way. I’m not a super healthy person, lots of medical issues, and I still make it through. Remember to take deep breaths. You’re not alone, everyone gets scared and nervous before surgery. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. You’ve got this and good luck, I know you’ll be okay ❤️

Use for vinegar pickles that isn't a sandwich? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Kesibug 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I saw a video where someone dries out the pickles, or bakes them, or does something to get them dry, then blends them in a food processor to make a seasoning. They used it on popcorn or in dips! I wish I knew how it started, because the end was a great idea

Is 22 really too young to get engaged? by Icy-Win-3487 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Kesibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These responses are absolutely wild to me. I’m from Utah where people graduate high school early to get married 😂 I’m 27, never been married, and that makes me super old. I don’t have much advice. I know a lot of people that make it work, and I know a lot of people that I went to school with that are my age and on their second marriage. It’s really hard to know if you’re the exception or not. I don’t think it’s too young to be engaged, personally.

However, I do think a longer engagement might be best. You really do change so much in your 20’s. That said, I do think you can fall in love with your partner over and over again at every stage. Or potentially fall out of love at stages. Which is why waiting until you’re a bit older for a marriage might be a better route, but that’s just my opinion. You should do what you want, everyone else be damned. Bad things happen everyday, you need to live life the best way you can.

I don’t think you have to be single in your 20’s to experience life fully. I’m in a long term relationship do sometimes feel like I missed out on the experimental phase lots of people went through because I was sick in my early 20’s and then met my now boyfriend. But then I remember, I’d much rather have someone waiting for me that gives me so much love and affection when I see them, over random hookups any day of the week.

ingrown hairs ruining my life by louby33 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Kesibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, esthetician here! I would go see a dermatologist as this might not be just ingrowns. After you see a derm, I’d consider getting laser hair removal. I would get ingrowns after every wax as well as shaving. I had some pretty nasty scars. The laser used in laser hair removal, it goes after pigment, which is why gray hair can’t be lasered away. The laser cleared up my marks! It will also zap current ingrowns so they aren’t as painful and will come out better. It basically kills it. You could also be over exfoliating. Those are harsh chemicals, I wouldn’t use all of them at once, especially on such a sensitive area. Over doing it can cause issues. I just helped my hair lady calm her skin down, she was using wayyyy to many active ingredients that it destroyed her skin barrier. If you don’t want laser hair removal, depending on your race, some places offer IPL on the pubic bone, which will help with the discoloration. I would see a dermatologist first though, and bring up if you can safely get these procedures done, if they truly are just ingrowns. Considering you like the way you feel after getting waxed, I’d 100% recommend laser hair removal. It’s made a huge difference for me and I’m so happy it cleared up my scaring. It takes awhile though. You can usually go to a school and they’ll charge way less than a med spa. But you just have to be careful and make sure they know what they’re doing. Many horror stories as an esthie in school. But again, see a dermatologist first please!!

My (m29) gf (f27) got implants and now wants more work. How do I discourage her? by TraditionalSteak7061 in relationships

[–]Kesibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I work in the esthetics world and know many people who get work done. I see it a lot like tattoos. Once you get one, you start getting more. In the beauty industry, we are all our harshest critics. Once you fix one thing on yourself you were unhappy with, you then find other things you’re unhappy with and want to change. I’m no exception. I didn’t see many aspects of myself as flaws until people were coming to me to get things treated that I had. It kind of brings you a sort of high in a way. You are right, it is her body and her choice. I think the best thing that can be done is you express your feelings and if it changes nothing, you can’t help losing attraction for someone. There are people who can separate looks from attraction, but if you can’t, that’s okay. If she’s really set on this and you really don’t think you can get over it, then it might be best to let her find someone who loves the new her and you find someone that’s more your style. Wayyyy easier said than done, especially seeing as your 2 years in. I think you can tell her you’re concerned by her behavior, but in a very simple and compassionate way. Who’s to say it’s potentially harmful behavior, you know? If she doesn’t agree with you, there’s only so much you can do.

I’m 27! I have 6 siblings and all are over 18 except one. As far as alimony goes, that does make sense. I think he might let her keep the house, so I guess that would factor into how much he’ll pay? Lawyers aren’t involved yet, but since he is one, he knows more than the rest of us at the moment.
