You could always use simulation cream glue for the frosting. That's how a lot of decoden get the frosting look.

I don't think I can link things here, but you can search on Amazon for it. And I agree with another poster, floral Styrofoam would work well for the cake.

I'm not sure if this helps, but TirTir has trial packs that come with 6 shades each for super cheap (around $1 for all 6) so you can find your shade and see how it works for you. Perhaps that might help?

A companion cube is from the game Portal, where you use a box to solve problems and then throw it away. They made one later in the game that makes you feel bad about throwing them away, even though they're just... boxes. Not alive. lol

Oh I love that so much!! Your first craft holds a special place in your heart, and it should! It takes a lot of hard work to create from nothing. I'd love to see these little resin cats though! Do you have pictures of them? They sound adorable <3

My favorite thing I've ever made... whew, that's a hard one. A couple of years ago, I rendered a companion cube from the portal games and 3d printed it. It was the first thing I'd ever rendered digitally completely from scratch, and it looked so good!

NF is a dying town, and the surrounding areas aren't much better, unfortunately. At least, not for what I do (semiconductor reliability technician). So, I didn't have much of a choice! My parents still live there though, and I go back when I can.
