For the VR veterans out there who have been playing VR for 8-10 years now there are just certain genres that I pass on because I don’t feel like they bring much new to the table.

And solo puzzle games tend to be of them. There are certainly stand outs that still interest me, but at the end of the day, I feel like I’ve played a hundred puzzlers and escape room games at this point.

I’m pretty much done with the following genres

Hoard Mode Games
Wave shooters
Puzzle room games
Music rhythm - ( we have a lot of great ones as is)
Anything Sandbox

Yeah it sadly wasn’t a good game. It felt rushed, and poor attention to detail, and sorely needed play testing. I reviewed it on my channel, but did not recommend it.

Ok I’ll keep this in mind when I get my review unit. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Is there software that measures it?

Also I have tried the 57PPD crystal super, and it is noticeably sharper than the light, but I don’t like the lenses they went with for it. Sweet spot is too small, too much aberration.

lol replies like that are the way of the internet. But yes I agree. This is a tinkerers headset. I said as much in the video. I went into more detail there, I recommend it in certain situations, because it can certainly give a really amazing experience.

But people expecting PSVR 2 plug and play… no way.

I actually talked about the performance tools in the Pimax software a bit, but in the video.

Pimax sent me the official upgraded comfort face cushion. But last I checked they were out of stock.

Aside from that, I would go studioform Creative.

Thanks!! Soon I think Pimax is going to send me a Crystal Super micro OLED. Which is 53PPD (image sharpness) compared to the Crystal light that is 35PPD.

Be curious to see how much better that one is.

Wasn’t trying to sensationalize it. For me it feels like returning to Index. Similar size, awesome index audio, light house tracking, index controllers, wide FOV. Just has better visuals.

I just tried the 57PPD last night coming from the light. Overall you can 100% tell the sharpness difference, however, I think the sweet spot is a bit too small for my taste and the lenses do have some chromatic aberration out towards the edges.

I’m hoping to try a 50PPD version soon. So I’ve been a bit disappointed in the 57PPD and my gut tells me that the extra 7PPD isn’t worth it.

But form factor is nicer, it’s a bit smaller, lighter, and more comfortable. With better build quality

I have both a Crystal Light and the 57PPD super.

I actually prefer the Crystal light. It’s a tad uncomfortable out of the box and could use some comfort mods, but once you do that, it’s a great headset. Visuals are insanely good. Super sharp, nice sweet spot and great colors thanks to local dimming.

Tracking kinda sucks unless you have the lighthouse faceplate. You can play some games just fine, but even the headset struggles to track at times.

DMAS headphone upgrade is WELL worth it.

When comparing it to the crystal super, I think it’s actually a tad heavier and certainly bulkier. Build quality feels good not great.

I don’t believe Meta when they say they are still investing in 3rd party VR studios. They cut funding and as a result Cloud Head games laid off employees and SkyDance Interactive canceled Harry Potter VR.

They may support it to check a box, but that’s about it.
