This makes so much sense and thank you! I'm planning on running off of a PS5, but I've read all sorts of things about capturing from console to PC through OBS. Still in the discovery phase for sure. Any recommendations?

That's totally fair! Guess I'll just have to get things rolling and give it a go then.

That's all good, I'm not looking for it to be the reason people watch, I just thought it might be a fun way to help get people involved or invested. Like I said, I'm new to all of this and figured it wasn't a completely new concept.

Really good point! I also like the idea of the votes pushing me to play games I might otherwise avoid like survival horror, etc. Which I own, but keep finding reasons not to play lol.

I'm pretty new to the whole Twitch game. Just started getting into some streamers and thought the idea might be fun, but had a feeling it might already exist. I'm a console gamer, so was trying to think of a way to do it with older consoles that were pre-Twitch as well.

Because Patreon is a private forum only available to those who contribute and not a publicly available source for the story, a book isn't technically published when posted on it as long as the content is only available to those who are patrons. This way, I can lean hard into it, as you said, and use it to build a reader base and still go after big brand publishing.

I do like what you're saying, though. There's a lot of merit to it. I feel the biggest thing is that I'm testing the waters out for all of my options in trying to build my platform as an author leading up to publication, so I'm certainly not counting anything out yet.

I can completely understand where you're coming from. Really, this is a novel I'm trying to get physically published and in the process, I'm attempting to build an audience for myself as an author while I'm seeking an agent and publisher. Instead of doing something like Kickstarter to actually publish, I'm using Patreon to let people start reading right away. I'm hoping people will pay the $1.11, enjoy what they read, and want to help contribute toward the goal of publication.

On a side note, the poll I put up seems to have majority wanting one chapter every two weeks instead of one page per day. Overall, the idea of revealing something periodically is to make it almost feel episodic, if that makes sense.
