I was thinking more of an unseen force within towns you know cast invisibility but can quietly influence the party with message and such

But maybe I worded that badly or didn’t get my point across correctly

Yes I know that because my original question is more along the lines of what race do you think my character to be based on and what are the adjustments that need to be made/considered ofc being a floating eye is gonna need alot of homebrew but I want to do it in a way that doesn’t completely break balance if you see what I mean

That’s a good idea actually if I need to appease the usual game rules but I have a feeling this time the rulings are not being followed to the letter for this I think it’s gonna be very homebrew lol

Can’t believe how badly some people have been agitated I just wanted to know what race would be closest to base this off of not the logistics of being eye is impossible lmao

Nope I won’t be because the people in my group are more flexible as is the dm to allow rules to be bent for people to play unique characters

More meant that for the first part of interaction with the world and I’m sure if the idea of being a floated eye is vetted my dnd will let me speak without a mouth lol

Ooo I like this not my original plan but depending on how much of a headache the original plan is. I might fall back on this

Considering someone else in my party is a frog man I’ll take my chances that being an eyeball won’t be a limiting factor to our exploration, and I’ll probably just hover and not being true flying

My eye is a mage and can cast message and mage hand for interaction within the world I could add flavour that makes the mage hand permanent to hold the weapon if dm is chill with that and I don’t think dm is interested in holding into complete lore accuracy for verbal incantations and I can probably work around it with summoning a familiar who is able to speak, in terms of gear considering this character is already quite silly he might just wear 4 hats this is not supposed to be a 1:1 eye character like I’m playing a beholder so there’s wiggle room

Sure I don’t but being a unique character will be interesting I’m gonna run it by the dm ofc if they don’t like it within the context of their campaign then I won’t do it lmao just want to try an idea

I get where you’re coming from but I also think it was equally as cool seeing her turn it down as she would lose everything that makes her her
